Crosstalk: March 10, 2015
Over the weekend President Obama delivered a speech in Selma, Alabama, marking the 50th anniversary of the march that ultimately led to passage of the Voting Rights Act of 1965. He used this time to express a broader connection between America's movements for social justice among the black community and homosexual rights. In communicating like this he's seeking to impart credibility to the changeable characteristic of one's sexual preference by relating it to the unchangeable characteristic of skin color.
