THE JESUITS IN IRELAND
Chris discusses some of the history of the Jesuit Order in Ireland during the seventeenth century, when the Irish Rebellion of 1641 took place. Historians tell us that the horrific events brought about the mass slaughter of some hundred thousand English Protestants at the instigation of Romanists in Ulster. It is said the persecution of Protestants continued from 1641-1649 when Oliver Cromwell arrived to reclaim control of the lost territories. The events of that time continue to inspire controversy even today.
