Crosstalk: December 14, 2017

This edition of Crosstalk began with news related to yesterday's program regarding transgenders in the military. The Department of Justice filed an appeal in the DC Federal Appeals Court after the U.S. District Court for DC said that the military must begin accepting so-called transgender recruits. The Justice Department has appealed that to the next court level and if they won't hear the case, Jim indicated the next level may be the Supreme Court.

The next item on the agenda dealt with the latest news concerning the Alabama Senate election involving Republican Roy Moore and his Democrat challenger Doug Jones. Jones received 49.9% of the vote while Moore received 48.7%. If after provisional, absentee and military ballots are counted, the margin between the candidates is more than one-half of one percent, Moore will have to pay for any recount.

Jim then presented news regarding the Human Rights Campaign. This pro-LGBT organization is gloating over the Doug Jones victory.

Comments were also presented from Brian Darling, former staffer for Senator Rand Paul, who believes the victory by Jones will hurt the conservative agenda.

After presenting those news items, Jim took calls from listeners who were allowed to get on their 'soap box' and express what's on their hearts and minds.
