THE ARMENIAN GENOCIDE & CONCORD BRIDGE
Chris discusses the anniversaries of two historic events that were remembered this past week — the Armenian Genocide (remembered on April 24th), and the battles of Lexington and Concord (April 19). We find it remarkable that these two events should be remembered so close together. The mass murder of Armenian Christians during World War I was preceded by their people being disarmed before they were tragically slaughtered. As such, we consider the wisdom of our colonial forefathers who refused to surrender their arms to the Redcoats in 1775, but instead fired “the shot heard round the world,” the echo of which continues to this day.
