What in the World? | March 18, 2025
Among the many news stories that are brought to the attention of the Crosstalk team each week, some are just so bizarre you can’t help but ask, “What in the world?” Below are several examples that made the cut for this broadcast:
–God, the creator of the universe, was mocked at the Golden Globe Awards on January 5th. On January 7th, the California wildfires began, burning down thousands of homes. Was this a coincidence or judgment from God?
–A new 4 lane highway is cutting through tens of thousands of acres of protected Amazon rain forest for the COP30 Climate Summit that’s set to be held in the city of Belem, Brazil. The idea is to ease traffic flow into the city.
–The California bullet train is going nowhere. Originally designed to connect San Francisco to Los Angeles, it’s been nothing but a drain on state and federal resources. Consider that the transcontinental railroad took only 6 years to complete yet this boondoggle has taken about 10 years thus far!
–A member of the European Parliament is asking the U.S. to return the Statue of Liberty! Jim provided audio of comments from Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt on the matter.
–A retired pastor from Northern Ireland could be fined thousands of dollars for preaching the Gospel in an abortion censorship zone!
–The Supreme Court of Nigeria has upheld the conviction of a Christian man who was stabbed in an attack and sentenced to death for killing in self defense.
–In Wales, 3 Muslims kidnapped a Jewish composer, abused and threatened him and held him for ransom. The Prime Minister of the U.K. claimed the problem is Islamophobia.
–A satanic, pro-abortion worship ritual is now set to take place on March 28th on the capitol grounds in Topeka, Kansas.
Jim had much more to share and he presented listeners with the opportunity to present their views as well.
