Topic Five: Idaho lawmakers pass resolution calling for amendment to the Constitution to protect parental rights against the United Nation’s Convention on the Rights of the Child. Topic Six: Illinois and Rhode Island introduce resolutions calling for the ratification of the UN CRC. Rhode Island’s resolution said, “If enacted , the [CRC] would become superior to the laws of the states and their judicial systems, and would be subordinate only to the text of the [U.S.] Constitution.”
