Brannon’s guest is Marquis Laughlin. Marquis, as a black American, and a minister, is concerned about the infiltration of false teaching into all of America’s churches but desires to address why false teaching is so prevalent among black pastors and their churches. Marquis uses the scandals of Eddie Long and his recently being wrapped in the Torah, placed in a chair, and raised up as a king. Marquis speaks to the Biblical requirements of a pastor/shepherd that include sound doctrine, self-sacrifice, protecting the flock, and humility. Brannon and Marquis are joined by a black pastor named Ron that calls in to the program to explain how many black pastors use the prosperity gospel, racial tensions, and an entitlement mentality to manipulate their members and grow their churches. Pastor Ron speaks of how some within the black community often turn on him as an “Uncle Tom” for preaching a Biblical gospel and for calling out the unbiblical theology and practices of some of America’s black pastors and churches. This is a very important program and should cause true Christians to pray for Godly men like Marquis and Pastor Ron that are seeking to stand for Biblical truth and to warn both white and black Christians of false teaching and the need for Christians to stand together as one-blood and one-body on the truth of the gospel and to encourage each other in defense and proclamation of the faith.
