(Aired June 17, 2011)One of my closest friends, mentor, and Worldview Weekend speaker Dr. Ron Carlson went to be with the Lord on Thursday evening, June 16, 2011. Todays program (June 17, 2011) is dedicated to the Biblical legacy of Ron Carlson as I play audio clips of his preaching and talk about his personal influence on my life. I met Ron when I was in 7th grade when he spoke at my church. Years later Ron became the most frequent speaker for Worldview Weekends because he was such a gifted communicator and a Godly man with a Biblically solid message. Ron and I traveled and spoke together at dozens and dozens of Worldview Weekend conferences. Ron was one of my closest friends, he was my closest advisor, and he was a spiritual mentor that cannot be replaced. When we were not traveling together, Ron and I spoke on the phone almost weekly and e-mailed almost daily. After my wife, Ron Carlson was the most encouraging of the work to which the Lord has called me. The loss for me personally and for Worldview Weekend is beyond words. I will miss Rons Godly influence in my life, his personal friendship and the joy of ministering with him throughout America. Please pray for his wife Marge and their two sons Jason and Jared.
