Brannon’s guest is Dr. Gregg Frazer, author of The Religious Beliefs of America’s Founders. Topic: Were the founders Deists or Christians or perhaps a mixture of both? Dr. Frazer has coined the term Theistic Rationalist to describe the major founders. Frazer’s book looks at the major Founding Fathers and their religious worldview such as those of James Madison, James Wilson, Alexander Hamilton, Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson. Dr. Frazer explains why Christian Americanism is dangerous for the church and a corruption of the gospel. Dr. Frazer also gives the names of three founders he believes were truly Biblical Christians.
