Guest: Dr. John Whitcomb. Question: In Ezekiel's description of the great war of Gog and Magog, he refers to several groups that are neither attacking nor defending Israel in Ezek. 38:13. Do we know who these countries are? Is it too speculative to think that "all their young lions" (NKJV) are likely the countries that were once colonies or part of the British Empire? Question: Throughout history tyrannies have emerged that are responsible for the deaths of countless millions of innocent people, the main implement of destruction seeming to be starvation. Surely among the victims were true Bible-believing Christians, trusting in God for their sustenance. Does not Matthew 6:33, 34 say that if we seek His kingdom first then our needs will be met? Are we perhaps to trust Him to the point of death and accept that it must be His will to end our life on earth? Question: Matthew 12:40 states that the Son of Man (Christ) would “be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth” after being crucified, a total of 72 hours. Thus, was Jesus not crucified on a Wednesday? Question: In John 2 it speaks of Jesus' first miracle of turning water into wine. Please explain Mary's reaction to Jesus (John 2:4, 5). Question: Is Acts 2:1, 2 a prescriptive text or a descriptive text? Are these verses telling us that in order for the Holy Spirit to be in our church the congregation needs to be “with one accord”? Question: When Enoch and Elijah were taken to heaven, were they given glorified bodies? Scripture states: “flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God” (1 Cor. 15:50). Yet if Elijah is one of the two witnesses, he will be killed in the middle of the tribulation. It is my understanding that the glorified body cannot die. Can you please explain this? Question: In the illustration in Rev. 12:7-10, has the dragon, Satan, been cast out of heaven yet? I have been perplexed by this Scripture for some time and would appreciate some clarity on this issue. My pastor said that this scenario actually happened before the fall of man. Topic: We take your calls.
