Brannon Howse: May 19, 2010
Topic: Brannon is very concerned that many of the national, evangelical denominations are in some ways promoting, funding, or encouraging liberal, social justice programs and ideas. For example, Dr. Richard Land, a leader of the Southern Baptist Convention reportedly in 1994, signed the ecumenical "Evangelicals and Catholics Together" document. A few years ago Land joined the anti-Christian, anti-American, globalist organization known as the Council on Foreign Relations. You will hear Land in his own words try and defend his membership. Recently Land joined the radically liberal National Association of Evangelicals and signed onto an ad calling for amnesty for illegals. Land does not call it amnesty, but that is clearly what it is. Now we have uncovered that fact that Land has been part of an organization called "U.S. Muslim Engagement". Land endorsed a report that he reportedly helped to draft along with members of the religious left and radical, fundamentalist Muslims that also took part in this "dialogue." The goal of this group is for Americans and Muslims to find common ground which is impossible when several of the Muslims are associated with organizations, that according to credible news sources, have ties to known terrorists organizations. At least one of the Muslims involved in this report has defended Sharia Law. Sadly, many "evangelicals" are no longer being salt and light, as they claim, by taking part with such groups, they are giving credibility to radical and unbiblical causes. Brannon challenges his radio audience to only give to their churches, that are members of national denominations, after being assured of what the money is supporting when it is sent to the national denominational headquarters. If you cannot gain such assurances, then give to your church in ways that keep the funds local and stop funding your national denomination headquarters. We also take your calls on this issue.
