Brannon Howse: September 30
Topic One: Is America seeing the development of "American Christians" that are more interested in nationalism and ecumenicalism than the Gospel as where the "German Christians" in Germany? Is America seeing the development of "The American Confessing Church" that is opposing ecumenicalism and nationalism as was the "Confessing Church" led by Dietrich Bonheoffer and Martin Niemoller? Topic Two: It has now been brought to our attention that Richard Land of the Southern Baptist Convention endorsed the book by Jim Wallis called, The Great Awakening. Land wrote "I commend Jim Wallis for advocating religious belief as an invaluable resource in addressing the urgent moral and social crisis of our time." Does Land even know what the religious beliefs of Jim Wallis are? Dr. David Noebel of Summit Ministries wrote an article last year for Worldview Weekend.com that details how radical and anti-Biblical are the ideas of Jim Wallis. Jim Wallis is a radical, socialist, progressive that is the spiritual adviser to President Obama. So let's review: Land has endorsed a report calling for Christians and Muslims to build bridges to each other, has endorsed the book by Jim Wallis, sits on the radical, anti-Christian, anti-American Council on Foreign Relations, is pushing amnesty (by another name) and social justice, has called Mormonism the fourth Abrahamic religion and has locked arms with Glenn Beck's pluralistic group of religious leaders on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. Since the SBC reportedly continues to fund Land's office and activities at the SBC are we to conclude the SBC Convention is now also pro-social justice, pro-pluralism, pro-Mormonism, pro-globalism, pro-ecumenicalism and pro-Jim Wallis? If this is not the case, how long will the SBC allow Land to use the name of the SBC to bring credibility to the activities and causes in which Land is involved? This issue is important to even those that do not attend an SBC church because the SBC is the nation's largest non-catholic denomination. Topic Three: We take your calls.
