EZEKIEL'S IDOLATERS Chris discusses Ezekiel chapter 8 in light of discussions about paganism and the exposure of occult groups in the United States. Is is Biblical for Christians to confront these things? Some have argued that because such discussions can be disturbing it is better to avoid them. But throughout the Scriptures, God sends His prophets to confront the idols worshiped by both the kings and the people. We are repeatedly told that behind these idols are demonic powers and principalities that can destroy the souls of men. In Ezekiel, God shows the prophet how the very leaders of ancient Israel were worshiping pagan gods and then commands him to warn them of the judgment to come because of it.
