DESMOND TUTU: A FALSE PROPHET IN MODERN TIMES Chris discusses a recent story concerning world renowned Archbishop Desmond Tutu, the controversial minister of the Anglican Church of Southern Africa, who has said: "I would refuse to go to a homophobic heaven ... I would much rather to go the other place (i.e. Hell)." Archbishop Tutu achieved international recognition because of his fight against apartheid during the 1980's and received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1984; in 2009 President Barack Obama awarded him the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Tutu has long been a supporter of ecumenism, abortion, and homosexuality. This latest statement from him was in support of the launch of the United Nation's global campaign to promote gay rights. What does the Bible tell us about false prophets, and how do we recognize them in the Church?
