New evidence even suggests that the United Nations and the U.S. government were both aware of the plan to murder hundreds of thousands of people long before it happened -- and did nothing to stop it. Among the elements at play in Rwanda was forbidding the common people the right to bear arms, leaving them vulnerable to slaughter.
