THE SERMON ON THE MOUNT The world today is full of discord and controversy over many issues, but none so great as the concept of righteousness, or what it means to be "right" in the sight of God. Some argue that a universal tolerance of all beliefs is the only right thinking, and that to discriminate against the view of others is bigoted, and cannot possibly represent the one true "god." But what does the Bible say? In His powerful Sermon on the Mount, the Lord Jesus Christ gave us certain guidelines for understanding the righteousness of God, and what to expect if we follow Him. While the Lord's sermon is filled with promises of blessing for those who believe and obey, it also accompanied with warnings of destruction for those who reject God's standard, or who profess faith in Christ, while walking in disobedience.
