SALVATION FOR ATHEISTS? Chris follows up on the story that has created theological buzz around the world, when Pope Francis declared that Christ's death on the cross "redeemed EVERYONE ... even Atheists." Yet in the backlash of these comments, Catholic apologists have been scrambling to create arguments in support of what the Pope has said, even claiming that his comments were nothing new in terms of Catholic theology, and that this is what the "Church" has always believed. But did the Pope suggest that if Atheists repent of their unbelief and put faith in Christ, they will be saved? Or did he declare that they are already saved, if they do good works?
