THE ORIGIN OF THE PAPACY Chris responds to a comment from a Catholic listener concerning the martyrs in the first three centuries of Church history. Were they Catholic? Or was the Roman Catholic system developed centuries later? Did early Christian writers consider the Church to have been founded on Peter? Or upon the revelation that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God?
