ELIJAH - (PART THREE) Chris explores the end of Elijah's ministry as the brief reign of King Ahaziah comes to an end, as we read in 2 Kings. Ahaziah was the son of King Ahab and the wicked Queen Jezebel. Like his parents, he worshiped Baal and did evil in the sight of the Lord, and so God pronounced a judgment against him through Elijah. When the king sent soldiers to have the prophet taken into custody, Elijah called down fire from heaven to consume them. After destroying two captains and their men, the third captain finally humbled himself and found mercy from God. The story presents powerful lessons on the value of humility in the sight of God.
