The problem is that God knows where you’re going even before you do, Jonah was determined to avoid doing a distasteful job: preaching to a pagan city that they might repent. Here we have a prophet who’d rather hit the road than tell the Ninevites that judgment could be averted. Today: God blocks Jonah’s escape route.
