Sometimes our best intentions can lead us astray. Peter could not imagine His master nailed to a cross, and told Him so. But Matthew chapter 16 records a stern rebuke from Jesus to Peter: “Get thee behind me, Satan!” Jesus knew that the cross was His destiny, and would not allow anything to stand between Him and the death God had planned from eternity.
