Even though the nation of Israel was promised an everlasting watchcare by God Himself, this did not mean that Israel would never be punished. In fact, Scripture speaks of a scattering of Israel, which took place when Rome destroyed Jerusalem in A.D. 70. But after the scattering, God also said He would summons His nation to return after many days. In our day, this summons from God has occurred, and today more Jews live in Israel than in any other place in the world. This miracle of God is evidence of Gods everlasting covenant with the nation of Israel.
