“History doesn’t repeat itself, but it does rhyme:” a quote attributed to author Mark Twain. We see today the seedlings of socialism beginning to burst through here in the U.S. and it looks awfully familiar. First up this week is Andrei Znamenski, Professor of History at the University of Memphis. He grew up in the Soviet Union before coming here in 1991 and is an expert in the leadup to the Bolshevik movement of 1917. He describes the beginning of communism in Russia where they would shut down intellectual debate, control the media, and institute a repressive cancel culture. Where have we heard that before?
