Brannon Howse: December 20, 2017

Part 2: Women and Spirituality conferences are being held around the country and are growing in popularity. A few years back, Brannon did several radio and television programs on pagan spirituality, and wrote an entire chapter in one of his books on the rise of feministic gnosticism. Brannon worked to prepare his listening friends that this trend would be growing in the years to come. Now in December of 2017, even secular news sites have picked up on this growing trend. The headline on Marketwatch on December 19, 2017 was: Merry Christmas! Why Millennials are Ditching Religion for Witchcraft and Astrology. On December 17, 2017 the headline at breitbart.com was: The Rise of Feminist Witchcraft. Why is the trend growing and how has it crept from the culture into evangelicalism. Topic: Brannon talks about a group of ministers who pride themselves on their conservative orthodoxy, sitting on a panel at a discernment conference this past year and most of them said nothing when one man on the panel declared that his pastor was the chairman of something called “Holy Yoga." While one man shared his concerns, the rest sat there in total silence, and many of them even made jokes and the others laughed as though this is something of which one should be joking about. "Holy Yoga" is equal to declaring holy union with a demon since yoga actually comes from the Sanskrit root yuj, which means "to join" or "to yoke" which is to mean to yoke or have union with a Hindu god. These men should have stated clearly that a man claiming to be a pastor and yet working with an organization that apparently seeks to merge Christianity with paganism should perhaps be an issue of church discipline and maybe disqualify this man's pastor from being a pastor. Brannon explains that pagan spirituality will increasingly receive little push back from men you thought would hold the line Biblically. Topic: We take your calls.
