Brannon Howse: February 28, 2017

Part Two: I Don’t Know if I am Saved & If I Can Be Saved. Topic: Twice in the last week Brannon has received e-mails from listeners that worry that they may not be saved and that they fear that if they are not saved it may be because they cannot be saved. Topic: Brannon explains why someone that is concerned about their eternal soul and the judgment of God is not someone that has been turned over by God and is unable to be saved.  Topic: For those questioning their salvation, Brannon looks at 10 hallmarks of a Christian as found in First John. I John 5:13 says that the book of First John was written that you may know you have eternal life. Topic: In this program Brannon looks at Romans 7 & 8 to explain that Christians will still sin but that their life should be marked more by obedience than disobedience. Paul in Romans 7 explains the battle that rages within Christians between the natural man and the new mind. Paul says that the things he wants to do he does not do and the things he does not want to do he does. Paul is describing the victories the natural man or flesh has over him despite his own will to do otherwise. Yet, at the end of Romans 7, Paul shouts for joy because of the Holy Spirit that empowers his new mind to have victory over the natural man or flesh. Then in chapter 8 Paul further explains that the power and victory is found through the Holy Spirt. Just because you sin does not mean you are not a Christian. Do you come under conviction when you sin? Do you long to live a righteous life? Is your life marked more by obedience than disobedience? Whether you are saved and questioning that fact or not saved but desire to be, this program is vital for you to listen to with your Bible open.
