Brannon Howse: January 18, 2016

Topics: Seeing providence even in a bad situation, & NRB has a troubling lineup of false teachers and those who claim to be opposed to such false teachers. First topic: Today Brannon shares how his beloved four year old lab, April, had 18 seizures on Friday and had to be put to sleep at his home due to irreversible damage. How did Brannon and his family see examples of providence when this occurred in such ways as when it occurred, where it occurred and how the family vet was available to come to the home quickly? How did God providentially provide a new lab that very evening to ease the extreme drama the family had experienced that day? How do trials and tribulations often reveal the providence of God as well as how do they prepare us to endure even harder trials? How did Brannon end up with April and why would he do it all over again despite the outcome? Topic: The National Religious Broadcasters is an organization that has sadly gone from solid to very theologically troubled. The names and pictures of those on the NRB website that will be speaking at the 2016 NRB convention is a very troubling mix of those who claim to be defenders of the faith, worried about the state of evangelicalism, and then ecumenical proponent Rick Warren, and New Age Catholic Roma Downey and others. Why is this not the same as speaking for a Home and Garden Expo with people that you may not agree with? The hint might be that the name of the convention includes the word religious in the title as in National Religious Broadcasters Convention. How should one respond now if they were booked for this event without knowing who else is attending? This is a spiritual enterprise complete with what is described as a worship service. Topic: We take your calls including from a listener who says they want to know if speaking for such a conference can be a good thing if truth can be proclaimed? Hear how Brannon answers this caller’s question.
