VATICAN TO OPEN ARCHIVES ON WWII
Chris discusses a new story about how the Pope has announced the Vatican will finally open its secret archives from World War II next year in 2020. For decades, the Jewish community has desired to see the Vatican’s records during the reign of Pope Pius XII (a.k.a. Hitler’s Pope) because of the suspected collusion between the papacy and the Nazis during the war. Some sources today have argued that Pius XII was a hero who helped Jews escape persecution, however, back in 1999, the book “Hitler’s Pope” by John Cornwell told a different story.
