Crosstalk: August 26, 2016
Gary Frazier is a respected speaker and writer on the subject of Bible prophecy. He is the founder and president of Discovery Missions. He is the author of numerous books including one discussed on this Crosstalk called, 'Miracle of Israel: The Shocking, Untold Story of God's Love for His People'.
Yesterday's edition of Crosstalk looked at Israel's past and present. This program looked at their future.
As the program began, there was one last look at Israel present; the history of the State of Israel since 1938. Gary is excited to be watching how the same God who promised to regather the Jews in their own land also promised to preserve and protect the Jews in their land. That is exactly what has taken place.
Since 1948 there have been numerous attempts to destroy the Jewish nation, but instead, Israel has not only survived, but thrived. They have experienced what can only be described as miracles during the many battles. This includes the Six-Day War in 1967 when they recaptured Jerusalem and the Temple Mount for the first time in 2,000 years. Then there was the Yom Kippur War in 1973 when they were attacked without warning on their holiest day of the year but again were victorious with many eye-witness accounts of miracles enabling that victory. Amazingly, though Israel was attacked, they are still considered the aggressors, with unprecedented calls for them to return recaptured land that had been given to them in the Old Testament.
Ever since, nearly the entire world continues to condemn Israel, including boycotts and United Nations resolutions. In reality this is a spiritual battle, as Satan has tried to destroy the Jews from the time of Abraham through today's nuclear threats from Iran. But the promise from Scripture is that God will never allow the Jews to be wiped out; a promise that has been kept and can never be broken.
Despite being isolated by the world, there has been a technology revolution in that land and that same world benefits from medical and other developments originating in Israel.
Israel also continues to receive an influx of Jews, so much so that for the first time since 1948, more Jews will be residents of Israel than Jews in the United States.
Looking at the future, Bible prophecy makes it clear that Israel's darkest days are ahead. Zechariah 13:8 foretells that in the last days, two-thirds of Jews in Israel will be killed. With Israel in the land, the clock is ticking for God to work his plan and there is much evidence that He is moving to do so. The named nations that will attack Israel in the future, including Russia and the Muslim world, are now developing weapons and beginning to work together, even threatening to wipe Israel off the face of the earth.
But there will also be good news. The one-third of Jews who survive are predicted to see the One who they pierced, the returned Jesus Christ, and will believe on Him!
There is much more in this program, but ultimately Gary concludes from biblical prophecy that the time is short and Jesus is coming, so we need to be ready.
