Crosstalk: December 10, 2015
Jim began this Crosstalk with a question: 'Have you ever been at the point knowing you need to study the Scriptures but you don't know how or where to begin?' He went on to describe Genesis as foundational to a proper understanding to the rest of the Bible. It introduces us to God, his creation, his sovereignty, his promise and his redemptive plan. A handy resource has been published allowing you to easily study Genesis on your own. It's called, '40 Days Through Genesis: Discover the Story that Started it All' and was written by Ron Rhodes. Ron is the president of Reasoning from the Scriptures Ministries, a teaching and resource ministry that specializes in defending Christianity against atheists, agnostics, skeptics, the cults, world religions and any group teaching false doctrine. Ron is the author of over 70 books. According to Ron, Genesis means 'beginnings.' It represents the beginning of many things including the creation of the heavens and the earth, humankind, God's revelation to and interaction with humankind, human sin, the work of Satan, God's redemptive promise, Israel's birth through Abraham and the covenant relationships, etc. Here's a small sample of content that Ron covers on this program along with details he shares regarding his new book: --If Genesis is historical, how could Moses record the creation account? --What does the word 'created' mean in the context of Genesis? --Scripture reading and insight --Digging deeper with cross references --Life lessons --Questions for reflection and discussion --Why are Genesis and Revelation great 'bookends'? --Why is it important to be a 'Genesis Christian'? Overall, Ron believes you can't properly understand the rest of the Bible without first understanding Genesis. Find out why when you review this fascinating Crosstalk broadcast.
