Crosstalk: December 20, 2019

Bodie Hodge is a speaker, writer and researcher with Answers in Genesis.  He oversees their correspondence department and is a regular speaker in the Creation Museum Speaker Series.  He is the author or co-author and contributing author of numerous books including, ‘Tower of Babel,’ ‘The Answers Book’ series, ‘Demolishing Supposed Bible Contradictions,’ ‘How Do We Know the Bible is True?’ and ‘The War on Christmas.’

Christmas is a great time for evangelism because Jesus is on the hearts of many people.  What makes this challenging is the fact that Jesus is the dividing line in the sense that no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6).  The result is that as our society continues to maintain a hyper-tolerant, all-inclusive posture toward most anything religious, the exclusivity of Christ and therefore Christmas, will continue to come under attack.

For example, Jim noted that, at the time of this broadcast, there were 55 different billboards in San Francisco from atheists.  Fox News had reported that an elementary school in Texas had banned Christmas trees along with the colors red and green from their upcoming Winter party.

Learn how you can respectfully challenge those who attempt to attack Christmas as Jim and Bodie look at the following:

–Where does the name ‘Christmas’ come from?

–Who was St. Nicholas?

–Do we really know when Christ was born?

–Should we be celebrating Christmas when the Bible doesn’t specifically tell us to?

–What do we know about the star of Bethlehem?

–Did the wise men actually see Jesus while he was in the manger?
