Crosstalk: February 13, 2019

Jim began this edition of Crosstalk by quoting 1 Timothy 2:1-4:

‘(1) I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; (2) For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. (3) For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; (4) Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.’

There are many issues affecting our nation today such as the border situation, the flow of illegal drugs into America, illegal immigration, matters pertaining to North Korea, China, Iran, Russia, Islam, ISIS, Hamas, Boko Haram, Al Qaeda and our relationship with Israel. Then there’s domestic issues such as energy, education, transportation, infrastructure, agriculture, veterans affairs and health and human services. On top of that there’s issues such as abortion.

All these issues and more create enormous pressure for President Trump. Ultimately we know that our trust does not lie with the president, but instead our trust and reliance is upon our Lord Jesus Christ. Nonetheless, we are to pray for the president.

Jim asked listeners that if they had a minute of time to speak with the president regarding one of these issues, what would you say? This Crosstalk gave listeners that opportunity as an audio CD of this program is being sent to the White House so that they are aware of the sentiments of those who participated.
