Crosstalk: June 27, 2016

This Crosstalk looked at some important issues as it relates to future events and how that applies to us today.

Joining Jim in discussion of this issue was Gary Frazier. Gary is the founder and president of Discovery Missions. He is a respected speaker and writer on the subject of Bible prophecy. He's the author of numerous books, one on Israel that Crosstalk looked at previously. He joined Jim to discuss, 'It Could Happen Tomorrow: Future Events that will Shake the World'.

Gary believes that we are the terminal generation and that we are living in the last days. If we are, we should see the stage being set by God to prepare the world for what the Bible says is coming and if we're paying attention, we should see that very thing.

Gary's book is one of hope but also a warning. It's a warning because we're living in a time that appears to be similar in the moral/spiritual sense to what it was like in the days of Noah. Gary did note one exception. He feels we've surpassed the depravity of Noah's time.

He communicated that his book is also a word of encouragement because as Christians we're commanded to be looking for the return of Jesus (Matthew 24:42). If we're aware of what God is up to it should create a great sense of joy in our hearts knowing that Jesus is returning soon.

Gary's book discusses 9 future events which include: The great disappearing; America in prophecy; The birth of the new world order; The Islamic invasion of Israel; The coming of Antichrist; Global religion; The Temple; The Mark of the Beast and the glorious return.

As the program moves along, Gary addresses the following:

--Since it's taken so long and so many date-setters have failed, is a theology of

the future return of Christ wrong?

--How a future return of Christ mimics Jewish marriage tradition in the first

century.

--How is the glorious appearing different from the rapture?

--Where does the United States fit into Bible prophecy?

--How can Christ come when there are so many people that need to hear of him?

--Will Catholics have to go through the tribulation?

...and much more.
