On Monday, in a 5-3 decision, the U.S. Supreme Court reversed part of a pro-life Texas law that has saved the lives of many unborn children, closed abortion clinics and protected women's health.

Joining Jim to look at this issue was Troy Newman. Troy is the president of Operation Rescue, one of the leading pro-life Christian activist organizations in the nation. Troy is a founding board member with the Center for Medical Progress which revealed through hard-hitting videos an exposing of Planned Parenthood's participation in the trafficking of baby body parts. Troy has authored four books including his latest, 'Abortion Free'.

Whole Woman's Health v. Hellerstedt challenged HB-2 in Texas. Troy called this 'The Gosnell Bill' from the beginning because it was passed just a few weeks after Philadelphia abortionist Kermit Gosnell was convicted of 1st degree murder in 3 counts of killing innocent children after they were born.

The other item worth noting in that case was the deplorable conditions that were discovered. Every abortion mill that Troy has investigated contained similar conditions. In response, Texas passed an appropriate bill. 2 conditions of the bill that Troy wanted to see was that the abortionist must have hospital privileges at a local facility and the abortion clinic itself must comply with the same standards of care as that of other ambulatory surgical centers.

Interestingly, tanning centers, hair and nail salons and veterinarians are regulated and inspected to a greater degree by the federal government than abortion clinics.

3 years prior to the passing of HB-2 in Texas, Troy's organization produced a report where they went undercover into state abortion clinics. The clinic that sued Whole Woman's Health was found to have the remains of aborted children in trash cans outside in an alley, ceiling tiles coming down, mold, bloody refuse inside the surgical area and generally unsanitary conditions. It was so bad that the Texas Commission on Health and Environment sued them and won a $60,000 plus judgment based on the report that Troy's group filed. That's just one clinic out of many.

Pro-abortion advocates often say that abortions should be safe, legal and rare. HB-2 regulated the safety standards to help these clinics be on equal footing with other medical facilities. So why is there so much opposition to safety among pro-abortion proponents? Troy believes the 'safe, legal and rare' slogan is just an attempt to play to the masses while later on abortion proponents do just the opposite.

The fact is, abortion is not safe. Operation Rescue has documented hundreds of emergency calls to abortion clinics where 9-1-1 has been called to pick up a woman who is either dead or dying. It's also been documented that these individuals are eugenicists with an eco-friendly attitude, believing we need fewer people on earth because they are a blight/disease on the planet.

Troy also noted that when people from the clinics tell 9-1-1 operators that they have a medical emergency, they've been known to request that no lights or sirens be used. In other words, don't tip off Operation Rescue that there's an emergency taking place. According to Troy, they're more concerned about their reputation and doing abortions than the lives of the women.

This is just the beginning as Troy exposes what's really behind the recent SCOTUS ruling on this edition of Crosstalk.
