Mat Staver is the founder and chairman of Liberty Counsel.
Mat reviewed the cirucmstances revolving around the Supreme Court case of NIFLA (National Institute of Family and Life Advocates) v. Becerra. California wants non-profit, pro-life pregnancy centers to post a notice containing 29 words (2 sentences long). The notice must appear in their entrances, lobbies, printed materials, and online in 48 point font and in up to 13 languages. The language is to inform expectant mothers as to where they can go in order to obtain a free or low-cost abortion provided by the state. If the center doesn't comply, it's $500 for the first violation and $1,000 thereafter. Mat believes there's a majority of justices, including Justice Sonia Sotomayor, who he thinks will ultimately vote to strike down this law. During the broadcast Mat described the real intent of this legislation, what the turning point was during the arguments, and where the case goes from here.
