Mat Staver is the founder and chairman of Liberty Counsel, a non-profit litigation, education, and policy organization dedicated to advancing religious freedom, the sanctity of human life, and the family. Mat has over 230 published legal opinions.  He has authored 8 scholarly law review publications and 10 books.  He has filed numerous briefs and argued in many federal and state courts including the U.S. Supreme Court and has argued two landmark cases before the Supreme Court, Madsen v. Women’s Health Center and McCreary County v. ACLU of Kentucky. He's the host of the radio programs, Faith & Freedom and Freedom’s Call.

The first quarter hour dealt with the Iranian nuclear deal, a deal that the U.S. has now backed out of as announced yesterday by President Trump. Mat believes this was a bad deal from the beginning as it provided what he described as a 'glide path' after it would terminate that would allow Iran to make themselves a nuclear power.

Jim also provided reaction from former President Obama, former Vice President Biden as well as former Secretary of State John Kerry.

The second quarter hour began with news regarding the now former New York State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman. According to Mat, Schneiderman was a man who prided himself as someone who would file lawsuit after lawsuit to stop President Trump.

When he was in the state legislature, Schneiderman passed a bill concerning domestic abuse that prohibited choking. This is important because the New Yorker did a very detailed story about his private life that has as its source, 4 women. Schneiderman is allegedly abusive and demeaning, so much so that 2 of the women had to go to the hospital. He's also allegedly used government property to facilitate some of his abusive behavior.

Yesterday, Governor Cuomo assigned a special prosecutor to look into any crimes Schneiderman may have committed. Due to Schneiderman's alleged violence against women, Mat likened the situation to the biblical story of Haman and Mordecai where Haman was hung on the gallows he created originally for Mordecai. Adding to that idea is the fact that according to Fox News, Democrats had hoped that Schneiderman could bring down President Trump. Instead, this man who was not only outspoken against the president, but also against pro-lifers and Christians, is the one whose political career is in meltdown.

A radical homosexual legal organization issued a subpoena to Liberty Counsel wanting to know all the communications Liberty Counsel has had with anyone associated with President Trump, his staffers, as well as the Department of Defense. Another similar subpoena requires Liberty Counsel to go back 4 years before President Trump was elected and is asking for a continuing production of documents of anything communicated to anyone regarding LGBT individuals in the military. Interestingly, Liberty Counsel isn't even named in the lawsuit. This reaction by homosexual groups has to do with the fact that President Trump reversed the Obama decision to allow transgenders in the military.
