Israel is celebrating its 68th birthday since declaring her independence in 1948. In the wake of this celebration, Gaza terrorists continue to target Israel. Stabbings have continued. Tensions have escalated and fire has been exchanged. A veteran Hamas terrorist has been captured and has revealed a network of terror tunnels with plans to infiltrate and do harm to Israel. Joining Jim for this discussion was David Rubin. David is the former mayor of Shiloh, Israel, and is the founder and president of Shiloh Israel Children's Fund, dedicated to healing the trauma of child victims of terrorist attacks and rebuilding the heartland of Israel. He is the author of 4 books including 'Sparks from Zion' and 'The Islamic Tsunami: Israel and America in the Age of Obama'. Jim referenced a report that today two elderly women were stabbed during what police are calling a terror attack in Southern Jerusalem. David responded by noting that there is very little street crime in Israel compared to American cities. Instead, they have incidents like the one described where a terrorist attacks, no money is taken and the terrorist runs off. The civilian/terrorist is a Muslim 99.9% of the time. Jim also referenced a case from the Jerusalem District Court that a 14 year old was convicted on 2 counts of attempted murder. He and his cousin viciously stabbed two Israelis. He was only 13 and his cousin 15 at the time. It was their intention to die as martyrs in the act of killing Jews. What is causing teenage Palestinians to become involved in such violence? David said that they're just doing what they're taught. Muslim children in Israel are going to summer camps sponsored by the Hamas and Fatah terrorist organizations where, at 5-7 years of age, they learn how to fire rifles, learn propaganda about hating and killing Jews as well as famous quotes from the Qur'an about chasing the Jew behind the tree to kill him. There's also been a wave of stabbings over many months that is being called 'The knife Intifada'. This is taking place because if terrorists do a lot of shooting attacks against Israeli's, the Israeli Army will quickly be in their towns confiscating their weapons and they want to hold on to their weapons for when things really break out. The other reason for the stabbings is because it's easier for them to publicly call these attacks, 'spontaneous attacks' or 'lone wolf attacks' which David believes they aren't. Making matters even worse is the fact that the Judea and Samaria police district is concerned about a new kind of terrorism. It involves the use of poison-filled syringes against Israeli security personnel. In the end, David made it clear this is all about the core of Islam which is radical. This core is jihad and that means holy war against all non-Muslims. It's the guiding principle/precept in Islam. As this program continues, Jim has David also comment on the following: --David's description of the terror tunnels on the Gaza/Israel border. --The Israeli Prime Minister's quote that, although in the 'eye of the storm', Israel, relative to the area is, '...the most stable, tranquil and safest country.' --Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh recently said that his Islamist terror movement is not seeking war with Israel but they won't tolerate its troops entering Gaza. --Iran's claim to have successfully tested a precision-guided, medium-range ballistic missile that can reach Israel. --Prime Minister Netanyahu and his warning to the U.S. about getting involved in the nuclear deal. --The UNESCO resolution that declared the Temple Mount to be a Muslim holy site. --London's election of their first Muslim mayor. --David's observations regarding the current U.S. election scenario. --The growing chorus over the BDS (boycott, divest, and sanction) movement and the impact it's having on Israel at this time.
