​​The shooting that took place at First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas, (30 miles southwest of San Antonio) was the largest mass shooting in the history of the state of Texas and possibly the largest church shooting anywhere.

Jim spent the first quarter hour of the broadcast presenting an overview of the circumstances surrounding the shooting from various news sources. These sources also covered a wide range of reactions. This included audio from Pastor Frank Pomeroy and his wife Sherri as they gave a statement to the media, as well as reaction from two Hollywood personalities who mocked prayer.
