​This broadcast took a look at both the current situation in Florida as Hurricane Irma weakens, as well as news items related to this 16th anniversary of 9-11. Stories included:

--Florida Governor Rick Scott asked the nation for prayers as Hurricane Irma devastated his state.
--The governor indicated he'd been speaking with President Trump every day.
--Pray for Crosstalk affiliates in the Turks and Caicos islands and in the Englewood and Pensacola areas of Florida as well.
--Irma was downgraded to a tropical storm this morning. The damage is much greater than that from Hurricane Charlie in 2004.
--Florida Power and Light says there were nearly 1 million customers without power in the Miami-Dade County area alone.
--Officials have set aside nearly 1 million gallons of water, filled 67 trailers with meals and amassed 24,000 tarps.
--More than 4.2 million residents have lost power.
--It could be days before officials can provide food and water to those struggling in the aftermath.
--About 11,000 utility workers from across the nation are heading to Florida to provide assistance in the recovery efforts.
--Winds from Irma sucked out the water from Tampa Bay.
--Thousands of 9-11 victims, relatives, survivors, rescuers and others gathered today at the World Trade Center to remember the deadliest terror attack on U.S. soil.
--Ground was broken yesterday for a 93 foot tall tower of voices to honor the 33 passengers and 7 crew members who died.
--President Donald Trump observed the 16th anniversary of the 9-11 terror attacks by speaking at the Pentagon and paying tribute to those who perished.
--Vice President Mike Pence told relatives and friends of the victims of United flight 93 that the passengers might have saved his own life.
--Thousands also gathered in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania to mark the anniversary.
--In Israel, an estimated 500 people gathered to commemorate the attacks.
--The Muslim Students Association is having a celebration and bake sale today at Hunter College.
--German authorities believe that Islamic state terrorists have stolen over 11,000 blank Syrian passports.
--Fresh evidence submitted in a major 9-11 lawsuit moving forward against the Saudi Arabian government reveals its embassy in Washington may have funded a 'dry run' for the hijackings carried out by 2 Saudi employees.
--97 terror plots have been foiled since 9-11.
