Join us for Mission 17-32 of "It's NOT Rocket Science with Jason Pratt" where we will explore the concept of Christian admonishment. How should a true Christian respond when given an admonishment, or warning, regarding a sinful activity, habit, hobby, or belief? Also, do the meanings of words mean anything anymore? If I told you I was a vegetarian but my favorite meal was a "double-double", two all beef patties and two slices of cheese, from In-N-Out burgers, is my claim of eating strictly vegetables valid? When confronted on my false claim, could I respond that I've added burger eating as permissible for vegetarians? What about redefining other activities that have purely pagan or even Satanic origins and claiming that they are compatible with Christianity? We take a little more in-depth look at Yoga and the concept of namaste inherent in its practice. Our launch pad will be from 1 Corinthians 6:15-20 in order to give context to verse 16 that was used out of context by a friend justifying "Christian Yoga." We also look at the discoverer of Oxygen, Joseph Priestly, in our Scriptural Scientist Spotlight to look at a cautionary tale of distorted views on theology despite having a great respect for the Bible.
