Blast-off on Mission 17-24 of It's NOT Rocket Science with Jason Pratt. We've been examining Christian apologetics and in particular the challenge that skeptics issue when there is a lack of evidence for any particular person or event recorded in Scripture. With over 40,000 archeological findings that confirm the Bible it's a bit of a red herring (logical fallacy), additionally, the absence of evidence is not evidence of absence! But what about false religions or cults that have no evidence supporting their claims? They can rightly argue in the same manner that "the absence of evidence is not evidence of absence!" I overheard a co-worker discussing an early morning study of the Old Testament with high schoolers that he was leading. I asked where this study was to which he identified a nearby Mormon "church". As it turns out I am directly related to 2 of the 12 apostles or witnesses of Joseph Smith; Parley Pratt and Orson Pratt. With this week's experience as context we'll lift-off for Galatians 1:3-10 and discuss the implications of these verses along with Matthew 22:37-40 and how to begin addressing the Latter Day Saints.
