John Loeffler: July 20, 2015

When the media and the politically correct elites give you their version of events, they want you to drink the semantic cyanide-laced Kool-Aid. In this weeks boralogue, John looks at micro-aggressions, the Confederate flagless General Lee car on the Dukes of Hazard, and Islamic terrorists who have nothing to do with Islam. The semantic cyanide Kool-Aid reveals itself in forcing everyone to think the same way and in the ridiculous contradiction that to promote tolerance you have to be intolerant toward those who disagree with you. Former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair recently became chairman of the European Council on Tolerance and Reconciliation, a group that looks to monitor speech and behavior to promote a climate of tolerance. Samuel Westrop (www.gatestoneinstitute.org), Senior Fellow at the Gatestone Institute, joins us to discuss the groups intolerant behavior toward those who dissent and how its mission statement favors censorship over freedom of expression. We transition from Europe to Latin America where the Pope finished a trip this week that included a speech on economics, a topic he admits to know very little about. Director of Research at the Acton Institute, Samuel Gregg (www.acton.org), examines the pontiffs comments against capitalism, shows how free market economies have historically been the most successful, and asks the question, If not capitalism, then what? Hint: no one has an answer. Christians are being persecuted around the world at an alarming rate. Juliana Taimoorazy (www.iraqichristianrelief.org), Founder and President of the Iraqi Christian Relief Council, exposes the long wait time for many displaced Christians to receive refugee status and recounts her organizations efforts to help those persecuted refugees by providing food, shelter, and education. Christians are also being persecuted here in the United States, though more through litigious means. Aaron Klein (www.facebook.com/savesweetcakesbymelissa), who along with his wife Melissa, is standing up for freedom of religion in dealing with the fallout from refusing to bake a cake for a lesbian wedding in Oregon. He updates us on his case, revealing the recent gag order demanding he not speak his views on same sex marriage because it would be construed as discriminatory. This flies in the face of the first amendment to the Constitution! As always, join us online for our weekly Section 6 intelligence briefing, featuring analysis by John on important stories highlighting emerging geopolitical trends. This week John examines the recent Iran nuclear agreement and its potential impact around the world. Please like us on Facebook at the Steel on Steel page and remember to join Praying for Persecuted Christians on Facebook as well for the latest information concerning Christians suffering for their faith around the world.
