God’s Word is true from the beginning to the end! We can trust that fact even when we consider difficult sections of the Bible, such as Isaiah 5. This chapter records the third introductory sermon given by this “prince of the Old Testament writing prophets” who ministered in Judah in the eighth and seventh centuries before Christ. It has a very heavy message displaying “the aftermath of apostasy in Israel,” as our Bible teacher, Dr. John Whitcomb, describes it. Yet, the message ultimately ends in glorious fashion, as we will see over the next two broadcasts. The chapter rehearses the history of Israel, which offers a remembrance of God’s sovereignty, blessings and mercy. Although nation had failed in many ways, the infinite, eternal grace of God shines brightly against the background of the depravity of man. With host Wayne Shepherd, Whitcomb Ministries thanks Middletown Bible Church in Middletown, Connecticut, for allowing us to bring you this message on “Encounter God’s Truth.”
