As we near the end of Volume One of our new series, “Acts: Witness of the Early Church,” we are considering how God worked unique miracles—of both judgment and blessing—through the apostles in Acts 5. The point of this passage is to explain how the Lord was setting the tone to display His authority in His church, and to demonstrate the seriousness with which all people were to take it. The sin nature that each of us possesses is an awful thing, and sin can have horrible consequences.
