Worldview Radio Hour: June 27, 2016
Why is it that so many pastors do not understand the Bible in context? Brannon reveals from the Bible that the Jews paid three tithes that totaled about 25%, not 10%. Why do these pastors not ask for 25% of the annual income of their church members? What does "bring your gifts into the storehouse" refer to? Why will God not curse you if you do not tithe? Hear a pastor declare that some people cannot be intimate with God because they are stealing from God by not tithing. How are Christians to give and how much and when? Get your Bible and be ready to understand this issue Biblically.
Listen as one pastor takes Luke 6:38 completely out of context and applies it to money. Brannon explains the Biblical context of Luke 6:38 and why this verse has nothing to do with money or tithing. Brannon also plays a video clip of a pastor declaring that Ananias and Sapphira were killed for stealing from God, and that when you don’t tithe, you are stealing from God. This pastor then wonders how many people in his church should fall dead and be taken out of the room like Ananias and Sapphira. Brannon explains the context of Acts 5 and how Ananias and Sapphira were not killed for stealing from God, but lying to the Holy Spirit. See the video of a pastor saying that if you don’t tithe you are opening the door for demons. As we examined in the first television program in this series, there were three tithes for Israel and the tithe is not for the New Testament Church today.
Hear pastors twist scripture to try and say that the tithe is for today when it clearly is not. Contrasting pastors that twist scripture, use guilt, and manipulate their congregations, Brannon plays the audio clip of a real pastor/shepherd as he responds to a church member during a question and answer time when asked about tithing or taking care of debt.
