My pillow 2.0 with again, use the promo code B 66. All right, Steve's friend joins us. Steve is the FBI whistleblower. Got a lot of guests tonight. Let's get right to it with Steve who I think we forgot about. But I'm glad you reminded us here. Steve, what is going on? You texted me over the weekend and I was a little concerned about what I heard. I said, oh, we got to get you on the air right away. Tell our audience about this, please.
Steve Friend: Oh, thank you for the opportunity to share it. So about a week and a half ago, I received a communication from the FBI, which I resigned from in February, right before I testified for the Select Committee and the weaponization of the federal government. And the email that I got from them was about my forthcoming book, True Blue, which is now coming out on June 13th. And the FBI expressed to me in about 30 to 40 pages on a document that they wanted me to redact multiple portions of the book pertaining to my whistleblowing activities, as well as my concerns about the January 6th and my experience with the Gretchen Whitmer kidnapping takedown that went on in October of 2020. So I took that, reviewed it, and came to the conclusion and in consultation with my publisher that there's no way that I'm going to redact it, that this information is vitally important and I want it to get out to as many people as possible. So I was able to share that on my Twitter account at Real Steve Friend. And, the people were pleased with that and actually catapulted my book to number one in multiple categories on Amazon over the weekend. So I'm very excited.
Brannon Howse: So the FBI screws up again. They ended up coming after you trying to suppress information and all they do is accomplish getting out the information to even more people.
Steve Friend: Exactly. It's the Streisand effect.
Brannon Howse: But what effect?
Steve Friend: The Streisand effect. Barbra Streisand sued, I believe, a book publisher for showing a picture, an aerial picture of her mansion several years ago. And it was a book that I think the single-digit number of people had actually viewed. But once that happened and that lawsuit went through, she not only lost the case but thought multiple hundreds of thousands of people have now viewed Miss Streisand's compound in California.
Brannon Howse: Well, that's interesting. It actually has a name now, The Streisand Effect. That's interesting. Wow. So are you worried about retaliations now from the FBI? Are you concerned about what this means for you going forward?
Steve Friend: Not particularly mean. Don't think the FBI is used to having anybody push back on them. I've sort of compared them to being the big stack at the poker table. They're used to just having that pile of chips and everybody at the table just folds and they're not really particularly good poker players. And I've also taken some preemptive actions on my part. I've already given copies of the book to some high-profile individuals. So it does have sort of a dead man switch on it. Should they choose?
Brannon Howse: Should they choose what.
Steve Friend: Should they choose to stop it, you know, in any way possible from coming out? There are individuals who can share it and they have large platforms because, at the end of the day, I'm not interested in becoming the next great American novelist. I just wanted this information to get out to as many people as I could. And if that's the way it has to go, then I think that is something I can live with. So now come out. We actually bumped it up. It was supposed to come out in July, but now it is. June 13th is the publish date. It is a Friday. Uh, you'll have to check the date.
Brannon Howse: Friday the 13th. I might not be good for the FBI. I'll check it out for you. Let's see. What day is it? June 13th. June 13th is a. That would be hilarious. No, it's a Tuesday. Okay. All right.
Steve Friend: Well, my publisher did say they went back to back to the printing press and they're going to get a second round of it up in light of the newfound interest in the content and I've decided that I want to initiate a new push here. So if anybody wants to get their hands on a copy, that's certainly very much appreciated. But I know it's tough in the let's go Brannon economy if you do however come across another 28.99. I would encourage you to buy a second copy of the book and mail it to the Hoover Building as a present to Christopher Ray.
Brannon Howse: So sign a copy to Christopher Ray and send it on over. Is that what you're saying?
Steve Friend: I think so. I mean, I know he is pretty much insulated from the everyday occurrences that go on by his own acknowledgment, by his own statements. He said that he's sort of bubble wrapped and he only really has oversight of the FBI and not really leadership. And I think that he needs to be educated on what's really transpired under his oversight responsibilities.
Brannon Howse: So if people were really to do that, buy your book and sign it and send it to him, do you think he would receive it or do you think if he got two, three, four, 500 copies or more, he'd start hearing about that?
Steve Friend: I'm hopeful. I mean, look, the guy has always signed off his emails as Chris. So he seems to want to be accessible to the rank and file, even though I'm no longer amongst that rank and file. I'm not too far removed from it. So I would hope that he would give it a fair hearing and actually read it. It's an easy read. It's not too complicated. Not too many words. Never pretended to be Chris could understand.
Brannon Howse: Is that what you're saying?
Steve Friend: I think so. I think so.
Brannon Howse: Huh? Wow, That's that is big news. Now, how is it going for? We checked in with Kyle Serafin not too long ago. What's the latest on him? Are they harassing him, too, like they are you?
Steve Friend: Oh, sure, sure. And Kyle has fought them tooth and nail and had a similar effect where now his podcast is just shooting up the charts. I think as of today it had jumped, you know, into the top 100 in some of the categories. So once again, the Streisand effect is is is in full play. The FBI is not used to having anybody actually counter them. They've just always leaned on individuals and hoped that they were content to either just put their heads down and do what they're told or just sink off into the sunset, into some sort of anonymous status. But neither Kyle nor myself is willing to do that.
Brannon Howse: Now, can they sue you for what you put in your book?
Steve Friend: I don't think that they can. I didn't share anything that was classified. I certainly the information that I presented about the Gretchen Whitmer case, that case has already been adjudicated. There's nothing there that's compromising an ongoing investigation. My whistleblower complaint was made public by Senator Grassley and Senator Johnson. So none of that is is is information that is not already available to the public. So I think their greatest concern is that they transcribe the transcription that I have of the meeting that I had with my executive managers when I brought forth my whistleblower complaint and have that conversation recorded. And I did so after consulting with a federal or a Florida law enforcement officer to make sure that I was within my rights as a law enforcement officer to do so. I had concerns that there were some civil rights violations going on on the part of my executive management and that therefore fell under the exemption of the two-party consent rule. So it was not outside of any sort of laws. And if they're worried about me breaking any employee policies, I'm no longer an employee. Well, there you go.
Brannon Howse: Now you're no longer an employee, but you're still in that limbo, that limbo area, right? I mean, they haven't fired you. Correct. So they took your gun, your badge. Do they consider you still an employee?
Steve Friend: No, I. I resigned. Oh, you did?
Brannon Howse: Now, when did this happen?
Steve Friend: I resigned in February. February 15th was the day that I testified, transcribed the interview, and did so that morning. And one of the main reasons I did that was that I had the offer to work for the Center for Renewing America as a fellow, and I had submitted the paperwork to the FBI because I was technically an employee, even though it was unpaid, and that you have the ability to seek outside employment, to support yourself, support your family. And the FBI denied my request. So it was a continued effort on their part to sort of deprive my ability to earn an income to support my family. It had been 150 days. And this fellowship opportunity that came across my desk as an opportunity was something that I didn't want to pass on because it was an opportunity to help advise this weaponization committee. So essentially, the FBI investigated me and now as retaliation, guess I get to advise those that are investigating them.
Brannon Howse: Wow. Well, good for you. Let's show the screenshot here before we go to Dan Eastman, Steve Friend, his new book, True Blue a suspended special Agent, explains his decision to turn whistleblower and expose FBI politicization and abuse against conservative America. You can go ahead and get a pre-order right now on Amazon unless you have anywhere where people can get a signed copy by you on your own website or anything.
Steve Friend: Working on it, working on it, and hopefully with this latest number of pre-orders, we're going to have some sort of website set up and maybe some actual book signing events.
Brannon Howse: Excellent. Good. All right. Well, keep us posted, will you?
Steve Friend: I will. Thank you very much.
Brannon Howse: Thank you, Steve, for checking in. Check out his new book, True Blue, coming out June 13th. Get it pre-ordered. We have a little bit of a record here of taking books and shoving them further up the line here. We did the other night for David Pine, and took his book from 30-something to one by the next morning. So again, go ahead and grab a copy of True Blue My Journey from Beat Cop to Suspended FBI Whistleblower Steve Friend. He's been here in studio with us and it's great to see him continuing to stand strong.
