Good evening and welcome to the Worldview Report.

Leading off tonight, with a pivotal election in Taiwan Saturday.

Hotair.com reported, “Taiwan just said no to ‘reunification’ or you could argue that Taiwan just said yes to war.”

China has been making threats for weeks that this election was a vote between peace and war. Peace on China’s terms meant electing the Beijing-friendly KMT Party so that reunification with the mainland could be negotiated.

War, according to China, meant electing the DPP to a third term in a row by voting for William Lai. Officially, Lai has said he is happy with the status quo but China knows he’s the most pro-independence candidate in the race. Well, when the votes were counted late Saturday, William Lai was elected president of Taiwan.

I interviewed our own reporter on the ground in Taiwan, Col. John Mills, for my Worldview Report Sunday show, and here’s what he had to say.

We have a lot to report tonight about the growing backlash over DEI, or diversity, equity and inclusion.

A member of Congress is demanding that Johns Hopkins Medicine fire a diversity officer after she sent an email to staff members with an attached letter that claimed all white people, Christians and men are “privileged.”

Dr. Sherita Hill Golden, the diversity officer, also included “heterosexuals” and English speakers in a “privileged” category, according to the New York Post. She eventually apologized.

She reportedly wrote in the letter:

“Privilege is characteristically invisible to people who have it. People in dominant groups often believe they have earned the privileges they enjoy or that everyone could have access to these privileges if only they worked to earn them.”

Others in the so-called privileged category included “middle-aged people” and “middle or owning class” people. 

The letter went viral on social media, resulting in Golden retracting it on Thursday and later issuing an apology.

“The newsletter included a definition of the word ‘privilege’ which, upon reflection, I deeply regret,” Golden's apology read, according to Fox News. “The intent of the newsletter is to inform and support an inclusive community at Hopkins, but the language of this definition clearly did not meet that goal. In fact, because it was overly simplistic and poorly worded, it had the opposite effect of being exclusionary and hurtful to members of our community.”

She added she will “ensure that future messages better reflect our organizational values.” 

The letter was blasted by prominent figures and politicians.

In a comment to Just the News, Rep. Andy Harris, R-Md., called Golden's statement a “blatant discriminatory sentiment.”

Harris added:

“This kind of woke discrimination has no place in modern healthcare and science. In light of this diversity memo, patients who consider Johns Hopkins for their healthcare should think twice if they belong in one of the listed categories about whether or not they will receive appropriate care or be treated as second class individuals at Hopkins.”

Harris further stated to Just the News:

“This blatant discriminatory sentiment is contrary to all the principles held dear in America, and certainly not expected from an institution that receives hundreds of millions of dollars in funding from the federal government – including dollars to fund that office of Chief Diversity Officer. The only appropriate action on the part of Johns Hopkins Medicine is to fire that individual immediately.” 

Johns Hopkins Medicine confirmed the accuracy of Golden's email and apology in a statement to the Deseret News.

Alec Musser, the 50-year-old actor best known for playing Del Henry in the soap opera “All My Children,” died suddenly and unexpectedly on January 12th.

Musser died at his home in Del Mar, California, his fiancée Paige Press and another family member confirmed to TMZ.

Musser’s cause of death was not revealed.

The pair became engaged last year after more than six years of dating.

Musser, who had a prior career as a fitness model, was catapulted into fame for his role as Del Henry in “All My Children” at the age of 31.

The actor appeared in 43 episodes of the long-running soap opera between 2005 and 2007.

Musser made several iconic appearances in “Desperate Housewives,” “Rita Rocks” and “Road to the Altar.”

The New York native also appeared in the 2010 movie “Grown-ups,” written by Adam Sandler.

A 34-year-old woman in Washington State has tragically died suddenly in her sleep.

Brittany N. Kellington was found dead on the morning of January 6, 2024.

She passed away in her sleep on Friday, January 5, 2024.

Kellington was not known to be suffering from any illnesses and her death was reported as unexpected.

According to her social media posts, Kellington was vaccinated for Covid.

Brittany graduated from Washington Community High School and trained to be a CNA and a CPA, last working in bookkeeping.

No cause of death has been made public.

New Mexico Republicans are upset with the state’s Democrat governor. They are accusing Governor Michelle Grisham of deliberately undermining the Second Amendment after she introduced draconian gun control proposals last Friday.

Grisham announced that a 30-day state legislative session slated to begin Tuesday will include “the largest and most comprehensive public safety package in our state’s history.”

Remember, this is the same Democrat governor who a few months ago announced the suspension of all concealed carry permits in and around Albuquerque, the state capital. That plan backfired as people protested and sheriffs refused to enforce her edict, saying it violated both the U.S. and New Mexico constitutions.

But Governor Grisham didn’t learn her lesson. Now she’s back with a new gun control measure that’s even more sweeping.

Her new gun control proposals include a 14-day background check waiting period on gun purchases, prohibiting guns in polling places and parks, and a minimum age requirement of 21 years on semi-automatic firearm purchases.

The package also includes the Firearm Industry Accountability Act, which would “amend the state statute to allow gun manufacturers to be held liable for deceptive trade practices.”

Grisham said at a Friday press conference:

“The constitutionality questions are beginning to be very complicated in the arena of gun violence. We are going to continue this effort, following what is going on around the country. There will be others who will follow in our footsteps, creating their own public safety corridors, which in effect also make New Mexicans safer.”

State Senator Greg Baca, the Republican minority leader, accused the two-term governor of taking “a hyper-partisan turn.” He said in a statement:

“Senate Republicans are eager to join the governor in tackling New Mexico’s crime epidemic, and to that end, we have introduced a number of commonsense solutions. Unfortunately, today’s press conference took a hyper-partisan turn with the announcement of several anti-2nd Amendment measures targeting New Mexico gun owners who only want to protect themselves and their families.”

In another statement, Steve Pearce, chairman of the Republican Party of New Mexico, called the Democrats’ proposals “another egregious attack on New Mexicans’ Second Amendment rights,” adding:

“If the governor really cares about keeping our communities safe, she will focus on giving tougher penalties to criminals, keeping criminals behind bars while supporting law enforcement and allowing them to do their job. Republicans will be putting forth multiple bills this session that will get tough on criminals without infringing on the rights of law-abiding citizens.”

A federal judge has declared that a law banning Americans from possessing guns in U.S. Postal Service offices is unconstitutional.

U.S. District Judge Kathryn Kimball Mizelle in Florida ruled Friday that the landmark 2022 Supreme Court ruling in the Bruen case made the post office gun ban illegal.

As part of the decision, she dismissed part of an indictment charging postal worker Emmanuel Ayala with illegally possessing a gun in a federal building. She said the criminal charge violated Ayala’s 2nd Amendment rights. 

“The Supreme Court has been clear: the government must point to historical principles that would permit it to prohibit firearms possession in post offices,” wrote Mizelle, an appointee of former President Donald J. Trump.

“The United States fails to meet that burden,” she concluded.

The Post Millennial reports that Democrats in the Washington State legislature began this year’s session by targeting gun rights. They are attempting to classify ammunition as a “privilege” and therefore subject to a special tax.

They want another layer of tax on ammunition separate from the state sales tax.

House Bill 2238, which is sponsored by Democratic State Reps My-Linh Thai and Liz Berry imposes an 11 percent sales and use tax on ammunition in Washington on top of sales, local, state, and federal taxes in an attempt to reduce gun violence.

Berry previously worked for former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords as her legislative director when the congresswoman was shot in 2011.

Instead of having the right to purchase ammunition, Democrats are attempting to classify it as a “privilege.”

According to the proposed legislation, “A use tax is levied on every person in this state for the privilege of using ammunition as a consumer at the rate of 11 percent of the selling price.”

This, of course, makes a mockery of the Second Amendment, which is under all-out assault right now in almost every blue state.

Two U.S. Navy SEALs went missing last week during a mission in the waters off the coast of Somalia, U.S. officials said.

The SEALs were conducting a nighttime interdiction mission on Thursday where they were climbing up onto a vessel when one got knocked off by powerful ocean waves, the Associated Press reported.

Following protocol, the next Navy SEAL up jumped into the water to help rescue him.

A search and rescue operation is underway for both SEALs in the warm waters of the Gulf of Aden, the report said, noting that the U.S. Navy has increased activity in the area to stop weapons from being shipped to Iranian-backed Houthi terrorists in Yemen.

U.S. Central Command would not confirm details about the two individuals who were missing, other than identifying them as “sailors” who “were forward-deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations supporting a wide variety of missions.”

Thousands of pro-Palestine protesters gathered in Washington D.C. on Saturday as weeks-long protests demanding an end to the war in Gaza continue. Angered by the recent U.S.-led strikes on Houthi targets in Yemen, the situation grew increasingly volatile on Saturday night as the protest devolved into a riot, with demonstrators pushing on a reinforced fence while throwing objects at police officers and Secret Service personnel.

According to Trending Politics, protesters chanted “hands off Yemen!” and waved Palestinian flags as they assembled outside the White House. The demonstrations were part of a global day of protest as the war in Gaza drags past 100 days.

Video captured by on-the-ground reporter Wid Lyman shows an increasingly volatile situation, with scores of protesters pushing against a reinforced gate on the White House perimeter. Members of the crowd could also be seen throwing objects at police officers and Secret Service personnel.

Others could be heard yelling “break it down” while additional protesters attempted to scale the fence. Shouts of “no justice, no peace” could also be heard as protesters banged on the exterior fence.

At one point, D.C. Metropolitan Police officers could be seen stamping out a fire that had been set close to the perimeter.

Gonzalo Lira, an American citizen and journalist of Chilean descent who had been exposing corruption in Ukraine, has reportedly died while in the custody of Ukrainian forces.

Some of the topics Lira covered included Hunter Biden’s corrupt business operations in Ukraine and how they were tied to the country’s puppet president Volodymyr Zelensky and the neo-Nazi Azov Battalion.

Lira’s father confirmed in an interview with Tucker Carlson that his son recently passed away in a Ukrainian prison where he “was being held for the crime of criticizing the Zelensky and Biden governments.”

Carlson posted on the social media platform X:

“Gonzalo Lira was an American citizen, but the Biden administration clearly supported his imprisonment and torture. Several weeks ago, we spoke to his father, who predicted his son would be killed.”

The journalist died after a “nearly three-month battle with pneumonia” that was ignored by his captors, according to his dad.

Carlson just released an interview with Lira’s father in December.

Elon Musk questioned why any American citizen was sitting in a Ukrainian prison while Biden sent the corrupt European nation billions of dollars.

Most Americans now say they are convinced that the surge of sudden and unexpected deaths since 2021 is being caused by the mass rollout of Covid mRNA vaccines, a new poll has revealed.

The Rasmussen survey found that 53% of Americans believe COVID-19 injections are to blame for unexplained deaths.

The figure has increased by 4 percent over the last year.

Nearly one in four (24%) also say they know someone who has died from the vaccine.

Only a third (33%) believe Americans who express concerns about the vaccine are spreading “conspiracy theories.”

Slay News reports that one of the world’s leading cardiologists has just given an explosive testimony before lawmakers on Capitol Hill, revealing the devastating side effects of Covid mRNA shots.

Cardiologist Dr. Peter McCullough was among several leading experts, including Dr. Ryan Cole and Dr. Kirk Milhoan, to testify during a congressional hearing on Friday, January 12.

The hearing was convened by Georgia Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene and sought to examine the risks to public health from the injections.

McCullough delivered a powerful testimony in his opening statements, revealing numerous complications he’s encountered among vaccinated patients.

McCullough testified:

“Yesterday, I saw patients with 2-foot blood clots in their legs after the vaccine.”

He said that injecting people with the genetic code for the lethal spike protein was “the most dangerous proposition our government agencies could have ever put forward to our country.”

He further warned that spike protein is doing widespread damage to public health.

Dr. McCullough stated:

“The spike protein, now in 3,400 peer-reviewed papers and growing, is proven to cause heart damage and myocarditis…The spike protein is physically found in blood clots, the largest blood clots that we’ve ever seen in clinical medicine.”

McCullough detailed a disturbing observation he is witnessing among his patients.

He said that before COVID-19, he had just seen two cases of myocarditis throughout his entire career.

Now, he said cases of myocarditis are skyrocketing, but only among the vaccinated.

Time now for our Worldview Report commentary.

Modernity News reports that Southwest Airlines deleted a post on X celebrating an “all-female flight crew” after questions surrounding whether “diversity and inclusion” drives are jeopardizing airline safety.

The post featured an on-board photo of two female pilots and four air hostesses, two of whom are black.

“All female flight Crew? Go off, queens!” stated the post.

After other X users began ridiculing the post, the company swiftly deleted it.

Respondents expressed satisfaction at the company’s quick reversal.

People are not interested in DEI. They are interested in flying safely from one destination to another.

The public doesn’t care one iota how woke a company is. We just want to know that the company providing the service is, A, competent, and B, honest about the qualifications of its employees.

I’m not sure why that’s so difficult to understand.

But I do understand where the pressure for this nonsense is coming from. It’s not coming from employees or customers.

It comes from Larry Fink, the CEO of BlackRock and a director at the globalist World Economic Forum, who devised a scheme called ESG scores. ESG stands for environment, social and governance, and woke investors can rate companies based on the performance in a totally ad hoc set of standards unrelated to the business in which that company operates.

Does anyone, even the most ardent liberal, choose an airline based on the gender of its pilots? Does anyone choose a hospital like Johns Hopkins because it is proud of its minority hiring policies, that it’s less white than other hospitals?

No. They choose an airline based on how safe the company that owns the airplane makes them feel. And they do the same for hospitals, cab drivers, and just about any service they need whether it be in travel, healthcare, food safety, etc.

This isn’t rocket science, but the woke corporations will never understand, because they’re dancing to the tune of Larry Fink and others like him who are using money to bribe, intimidate and corrupt corporate leaders around the world.

The only way to stop it is by doing what the Southwest Airlines passengers did. Speak up. Let them know. And if they don’t listen, then vote with your feet and take your business elsewhere.
