Good evening and welcome to the Worldview Report.

U.S. Steel, the iconic Pittsburgh steel producer that played a key role in the nation’s industrialization, is being acquired by a foreign-based company. Yes, U.S. Steel will no longer be a U.S. company.

The company is being purchased by Japan-based Nippon Steel in an all-cash deal valued at approximately $14.1 billion.

The transaction is worth about $14.9 billion when including the assumption of debt.

The price tag for U.S. Steel is nearly double what was offered just four months ago by rival Cleveland Cliffs. U.S. Steel, which rejected that offer, confirmed the offering price from Nippon early Monday.

U.S. Steel will keep its name and its headquarters in Pittsburgh, where it was founded in 1901 by J.P. Morgan and Andrew Carnegie. Nippon said that it will also honor all collective bargaining agreements in place with the United Steelworkers and other employees and that it is committed to maintaining its relationship with workers.

Soaring prices have helped fuel consolidation in the steel industry this decade. Steel prices more than quadrupled near the start of the pandemic to near $2,000 per metric ton by the summer of 2021 as supply chains experienced gridlock, a symptom of surging demand for goods and the lack of anticipation of that demand.

Nippon, which will pay $55 per share for U.S. Steel, said Monday that the deal will bolster its manufacturing and technology capabilities. It will also expand Nippon’s production in the U.S. and add to its positions in Japan, India and the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) region.

Nippon said the acquisition is anticipated to bring its total annual crude steel capacity to 86 million tons and help it capitalize on growing demand for high-grade steel, automotive and electrical steel.

Nippon President Eiji Hashimoto said in a prepared statement:

“The transaction builds on our presence in the United States, and we are committed to honoring all of U. S. Steel’s existing union contracts.”

U.S. Steel CEO David Burritt said the sale is beneficial to the United States, “ensuring a competitive, domestic steel industry, while strengthening our presence globally.”

That, of course, is a big lie. Whenever an American company gets bought by a foreign entity, that means ultimately that management decisions are made by people overseas and most of the profits get transferred overseas.

Pope Francis has issued a new document that allows clergy to bless any homosexual couple, in contradiction to the historic Catholic teaching that the Church cannot bless sinful relationships.

While stating that homosexuals cannot be united in any sort of “marriage,” the text of the document officially opens the door for Catholic clergy to provide “blessings” for same-sex couples, along with the norms outlined by the Pope.

The Catholic news outlet LifeSite News reports that the content and tone of the pope’s document “runs in opposition to constant Catholic teaching and Sacred Scripture.”

Joe Biden was whisked away to safety Sunday night after a car plowed into a parked Secret Service SUV that was guarding his motorcade in Delaware.

Biden was leaving his campaign headquarters when the incident occurred, and he and his wife Jill were taken unharmed to their home, The Associated Press reported, adding:

“While Biden was walking from the campaign office to his waiting armored SUV, a sedan hit a U.S. Secret Service vehicle that was being used to close off intersections near the headquarters for the president’s departure.”

Authorities said the car tried to continue into a closed-off intersection, before Secret Service personnel surrounded it with weapons and the driver surrendered.

The Secret Service did not immediately offer further comment on the incident.

An honor guard collapsed Monday while guarding the casket of Justice Sandra Day O'Connor, who died earlier in December and is lying in repose at the Supreme Court.

The guard could be seen collapsing on TV during CNN's broadcast of O'Connor's casket in the Great Hall, and being helped by other honor guards and security personnel. It is still unclear what exactly happened to the guard.

This honor guard collapsed in public just a few days after another tragic incident struck a 30-year-old gospel singer from Brazil by the name of Pedro Henrique.

Henrique was performing live at a gospel music concert last week when tragedy struck and he died suddenly.

Take a look.

Henrique was performing on Wednesday, December 13, in Brazil. The religious event was streamed live.

While singing his song, “It’s Going To Be So Beautiful,” Henrique collapsed and fell near one of the members of his band.

The singer, who has recorded several records under the Tadoh Music label, reportedly suffered a massive heart attack.

Immigrants used to come to America with the idea of becoming Americans.

Not anymore. Those who come as refugees from Somalia have their own parallel societies in several states, Minnesota being the most pronounced, where they live in enclaves, speak the Somali language, dress in their tribal wardrobes and practice the religion and culture of their homeland. Drive through the Cedar Riverside area of Minneapolis and you would think you are in Somalia. The Mall of America in Bloomington is not much better.

Now, in Minnesota at least, it appears the Somalis even have their own flag.

Minnesota has the largest Somali population in the Western Hemisphere, and they have somehow convinced the useful idiots of that state who are not Somali to adopt a new flag that resembles that of Somalia.

The X account End Wokeness put it all in perspective, showing Minnesota’s previous flag, the current flag, and the Somalia flag.

This post also shows Ilhan Omar, the America-hating Somali refugee become Congresswoman congratulating Somalis wrapped in the Somali flag. Now they can just wrap themselves in the Minnesota flag, since they apparently own the state. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words.

On Friday, the U.S. Court of Appeals reinstated a case from a group of female track-and-field athletes who are suing biological males who were permitted to compete against them in the woke state of Connecticut.

Selina Soule, Chelsea Mitchell, Alanna Smith and Ashley Nicoletti are suing after losing athletic events when the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference allowed men who claim to be women to compete against women.

press release from Alliance Defending Freedom, which is representing the female athletes in the suit, states:

“Starting in 2017, two male athletes began competing in Connecticut girls’ high school track. In just three years, those two males broke 17 girls’ track meet records, deprived girls of more than 85 opportunities to advance to the next level of competition and took 15 women’s state track championship titles.”

According to the 2nd Circuit, Soule v. Connecticut Association of Schools will be allowed to proceed in federal courts, with the court ruling that the girls had “plausibly stated an injury” and that they could be entitled to “monetary and injunctive relief.”

Indeed, they should be. Let’s hope that case comes down in their favor.

Just the News reports that efforts to dramatically reduce coal use in America are being offset by an energy-hungry Asia, making a mockery of the U.N. goals set by climate change activists.

If coal is so dirty, why are nations outside of America using more of it than ever?

Global coal demand actually reached a record high in 2022, rising 4% to 8.4 billion tons, according to the International Energy Agency’s (IEA) annual report released Friday.

The IEA report attributes much of that increase to developing countries in Asia: China’s demand increased 4.6% in 2022, which amounted to 200 million tons while India increased its consumption by 9%, or 97 million tons.

Indonesia, which is trying to corner the global market on energy-intensive nickel smelting, increased its coal use by 49 million tons, a 32% increase.

Despite its supposed commitment to driving down carbon dioxide emissions, Europe increased its coal use by 4.3%.

In the United States, coal use peaked in 2007. In 2022, U.S. coal demand fell by 8%. This 39 million-ton decrease was a greater drop than any other market.

The report predicts that coal demand will fall in 2023 in almost all advanced economies. The U.S. and European Union will see the biggest drops, according to the report’s forecast. Consumption will also fall in Korea, Japan, Canada and Australia.

However, the IEA notes that all of these decreases will be “more than offset” on a global level by increases in China, India, Indonesia, Vietnam and the Philippines. Together, the Asian countries represent 70% of global coal demand.

Hamas operative Sami Abu Zuhri is out for American blood.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken is the enemy, just like Netanyahu, said Abu Zuhri, with a translation provided by the Middle East Media Research Institution or MEMRI.

He stated:

“Now it is our nation’s turn to pressure the Americans to stop this war. We need violent acts against American and British interests everywhere, as well as the interests of all the countries that support the occupation.”

Renowned Islam expert Robert Spencer writes at Jihad Watch that, meanwhile, an echo of this call for jihad terror attacks against Americans came from a Muslim cleric, Ahmad Musa Jibril, who runs a mosque in Dearborn, Michigan.

Jibril, “whose hate-filled sermons,” according to a Friday report in the New York Post, “were said to have inspired the London Bridge terrorist attack,” is not in Britain, or in Baghdad or Balochistan. Jibril was born in Dearborn, Michigan, and while his current whereabouts are murky, the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) identifies him as a “Michigan Islamic scholar,” and the Twitter/X account that posted his call for jihad in America states that it is operating out of Chicago and is “managed by students.” Jibril, who did hard time in the Terre Haute Federal Correctional Complex for fraud, money laundering, unlawful possession of firearms and more, clearly has considerable influence among Muslims in the United States.

Fox Business reports that the State of Tennessee is suing BlackRock, the world's largest financial asset manager, in a first-of-its-kind lawsuit alleging the firm has harmed consumers through its radical environmental and climate strategy.

According to the lawsuit filed in state court Monday and first obtained by FOX Business, BlackRock has articulated two inconsistent positions: one prioritizing financial returns and the other prioritizing investment policies to combat climate change. While BlackRock has faced widespread opposition over its so-called environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategy, Tennessee's action on Monday is the first legal challenge to accuse BlackRock of violating consumer protection laws.

Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti told FOX Business in a statement:

“We allege that BlackRock’s inconsistent statements about its investment strategies deprived consumers of the ability to make an informed choice. Some public statements show a company that focuses exclusively on return on investment, others show a company that gives special consideration to environmental factors,” he continued. “Ultimately, I want to make certain that corporations, no matter their size, treat Tennessee consumers fairly and honestly.”

Michael Snyder of the Economic Collapse Blog reports that homelessness is increasing at a record rate across America.

With each passing day, more members of the middle class join the ranks of the poor, and more poor people find themselves getting kicked out into the streets.   The Wall Street Journal, citing federal data, reported that the number of homeless people in the United States has reached historic highs.

“The U.S. count of homeless people surged to the highest level on record, reaching more than 653,000 people early this year as Covid-19 pandemic-aid spending faded…The increase reflects a collision of factors: rising housing costs; limited affordable housing units; the opioid epidemic; and the expired pandemic-era aid that had helped keep people in their homes, federal officials said Friday.”

Not only are there more homeless people in this country than ever, but additional people are becoming homeless at the fastest pace on record.

Homelessness shot up by more than 12% this year, reaching more than 653,000 people, up from just over 582,000 last year.

The previous largest increase was 2.7 percent in 2019.

But Joe Biden says the U.S. economy is great. Go figure.

Snyder writes:

“At no point during the Great Recession of 2007 and 2008 did we see an increase in homelessness like this. Essentially the floodgates have opened up and an absolutely massive tsunami of homelessness has begun.”

Sadly, some groups are being hit much harder than others.

  • Blacks made up 13% of the U.S. population in 2023, but they made up 37% of all people experiencing homelessness and 50% of homeless people in families with children.
  • Asian Americans had the largest percentage increase in homelessness, up 40% from 2022.
  • Hispanics saw the largest numerical increase, up 28% from 2022 to 179,336 in 2023.

You also have to wonder how many of those counted by the government as homeless could be illegals.

Time now for our Worldview Report commentary.

Have you seen Apple’s recent TV commercial? It appears to be promoting a form of Gaia worship, Earth worship, one of the deceptions Paul warned about in Romans 1.

WATCH VIDEO (clip first 4:48)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QNv9PRDIhes&t=17s

The ad continues for almost another minute but you get the idea. Mother Nature is very demanding.

While Western secular humanity claims they don’t want to worship the God of the Bible because he has so many demands, they seem perfectly willing to concede to countless demands from their new Earth goddess.

This false god drives them to the point of insanity and self-destruction with its obsession of eliminating all carbon from the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide is one of the world’s essential elements. Without it, you can’t grow food. That’s the irony of it all. Their god is more demanding than the our loving Creator God. Their god is also cruel and ruthless, seeking the destruction of humanity under the guise of saving the Earth.

In Greek mythology, the goddess Gaia is the embodiment of the Earth who brought forth Uranus and then the Titans, among others. This demon is clearly still alive and gaining new adherents in today’s world of so-called sustainable development, the mantra of UN Agenda 2030.

Don’t be fooled by her deceptions.

That does it for this edition of the Worldview Report. Thanks for watching, and thanks for supporting this viewer-supported broadcast.
