Brannon Howse: We are going to be joined right now by Todd Bensman. He is on the border. Todd, I see you now have a brand new piece up at the Daily Mail. Daily Mail is a brand new piece up. Here is some video footage they're talking about dramatic rescue if you want to show it. Guys of children almost drowning as they cross the Rio. There's the footage now. This is embedded, this video in your article that's just been posted in The Daily Mail tonight. Todd, what's take the floor? What does our audience need to know about what's happening now that Title 42 has been pulled down?

Todd Bensman: Okay. Well, I'm talking to you from Matamoros, Mexico, which is just across from. Probably. And the immigrants here are. Have been passing in huge numbers over the river for several days now and actually for several weeks and anticipating the demise of 42. Then it won't be it won't be applied to them. But something sort of strange has happened. There's been a wrinkle in things in the last couple of days, and that is that the Texas governor, Greg Abbott, ordered when he saw, I guess it was my video of just massive numbers just pouring over the border, just like right through their razor wire all day and all night became infuriated at the fact that there was nobody was guarding the razor wire. And so he ordered a unit, a tactical unit of the National Guard to come in and man every inch of hundreds and hundreds of yards of the razor wire. And now they're acting like kind of NFL football blockers and almost nobody is getting through. They're just simply stopping them on the riverbank at the riverbank on top of the riverbank. And very dramatic confrontations on that side of the river. But the troopers and the Texas Guard are not yielding.

Brannon Howse: Did we lose you, Todd?

Todd Bensman: No, I'm.

Brannon Howse: Here. Okay, You're there. So the National Guard, we're showing your video footage off your Twitter feed for folks who want to follow him. Benjamin Todd at Twitter. How many are going to get through then? Are they going downriver upriver to get around this block? What's going on?

Todd Bensman: Well, I don't know how far downriver they're going. I mean, I followed groups of them today that were defeated and came back. And then they tried again several hundred yards down and were defeated there. And it seems like they're just sort of trying again and again doing the same thing and expecting a different outcome. I guess the moral of the story here is that at least in this sector, Matamoros and El Paso or I'm sorry, Matamoros, and it's been a long few days. Matamoros and Brownsville, where just untold thousands, I think probably 10,000, have just, you know, swam right over the river. You know, that once Title 42 is over, maybe the Texas state of Texas will be able to stop it. There's not one single border patrol in sight anywhere. They are not participating in this whatsoever.

Brannon Howse: And is that because of an order from the Biden administration? Yes. So this is a state of Texas versus the Biden regime.

Todd Bensman: Yes. One piece that I broke, a story I broke yesterday was that in watching the patterns of Mexican immigration releasing large groups, I asked the immigration officials on the Mexican side what was going on. Why are you letting 150 or 200 go at a time and then blocking everybody else? And the answer was, we are working in coordination with Border Patrol. And on the other side, they're telling us when to release them. And it turns out that it's a coordinated effort where the Biden administration is authorizing and working closely to. The Mexicans to have them released so that they can swim over in big. And going on for two weeks. They use a I think it's WhatsApp and they're all on tap. And your officials. Intelligence officers on our side and the Mexican immigration service on this side. And then the Biden administration was just inviting them all over. It's been going all into to swim over. And that's kind of a controlled flow scenario that is extremely unusual. I've never heard of such a thing. They're supposed to stop, block, obstruct, defend, deter, arrest, bust, that sort of thing, and not. All right, send 200 over, and then we'll take them in. That's like anathema too. Now, Texas has gotten in the middle of that whole arrangement, and it's kind of screwing it all up. And it's been really interesting to watch. I mean. I'm watching them cross over and all the Texas DPS troop guys. My eyes are on them right now. A blocking, not allowing any. Any of this huge group that just tried to go over there. I don't know why they did. And they're just and they're moving their way down river along the razor wire and the troopers are following them all the way along, blocking them. I'm not going to come in so armed with pepper pellets, they can shoot them if they if they got frisky or something.

Brannon Howse: So how do you think this is going to end, Todd? Do you think the Biden Justice Department is going to file suit against the state of Texas? I mean, what's going to happen here? We're at a bypass.

Todd Bensman: It's it's unusual. I'm calling it a Mexican standoff on mine. Texican standoff. I have a six-part series on my tweet. My Twitter account shows what it looks like. It's unbelievable because I've been covering this for two and a half years, right? Yes. And what I always see is just a big red carpet. Come on in. Watch your step. Watch those rocks over there. Here. Can I help you with your child, that kind of thing, all the way into processing into America? I have never in two and a half years seen actual blocking at the river and I mean physical blocking. With this razor.

Brannon Howse: Wire. Do you think they are? Do you think that the Biden regime is going to order or call or talk to the governor of Texas and ask him to stop? This? Is the governor of Texas doing this because he's running for president? What's the motivation here?

Todd Bensman: Well, I think. One is that, you know, my video of the first of all, my video. Just the undefended nature of what was going on angered Greg Abbott. He was told that he saw my video, all of it. I had 5 or 6 pieces and he ordered this the next day.

Brannon Howse: And so are you saying it Withwas a political embarrassment for him or what?

Todd Bensman: Yes, I think he was embarrassed that they were just walking up. And my I pointed out in my video, look, they're just nobody is defending that wire. They're going right over it.

Brannon Howse: So it was kind of showing that he was dropping the ball and guarding his state. And so your reporting has just forced this to happen. I think that's the headline, Todd Benjamin's reporting.

Todd Bensman: Well, I was told that and it went further than that because the next morning, I was the first and only one to videotape the Texas DPS blocking a huge group of migrants from coming up the next morning that went viral. And within an hour, my orcas called a press conference to condemn Texas for the actions that were in my video. And so they're unhappy. I don't know where it's going to end.

Brannon Howse: So already we're seeing signs that the secretary of the Department of Homeland Security is not happy with what the Texas officials are doing on their side blocking the immigrants.

Todd Bensman: Yeah. They called a press conference to condemn Texas for this.

Brannon Howse: Wow. Will you keep us posted? And I know people can follow you on your Twitter feed to get it. His Twitter feed is Benjamin Todd at Benjamin Todd. But please keep us posted. We sure appreciate all your doing down there.
