Todd Bensman on U.S. Mexico Border 2 Days Before Title 42 Falls

Brannon Howse: All right. Joining me on the border right now by phone because he's literally in the field. On the border is Todd Bensman. Todd, welcome back to the broadcast. Thank you for joining us.

Todd Bensman: Good to be here. Thank you.

Brannon Howse: Tell me where you're at tonight.

Todd Bensman: I am in Matamoros, which is just a Mexican city, just across from Brownsville, Texas, where a whole lot of immigrants have been crossing illegally for the last couple of weeks and have been ushered into the United States for their trouble.

Brannon Howse: Okay. And so how many are on the border up and down the border waiting to come in? What's the number up to now, you think?

Todd Bensman: I don't know yet. I just got here. And when we hang up, I'm going to go down there and take a gander and see what's going on. Talk to some of them. I will say, interestingly, that my hotel here, that hotel is filled with Kyrgyzstanis, which is a former Soviet republic next to Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. It's a Muslim country. And I met my first Kyrgyzstan a couple of weeks ago. We're getting one. I can barely communicate with them through an app, an online, you know, like a cell phone app. But, you know, I asked, you know, these guys all have one. They're getting in on humanitarian permits. They're going to walk across the bridge to Brownsville tomorrow on the one humanitarian permit that they got here. And I asked, well, what's what? Why did you leave home? What's your problem with leaving what you left at home? The humanitarian reason. And this one guy refused to say because that's personal. I said, Well, why won't you tell me? And he said because that's going to be the subject of a hearing later, meaning, you know, some kind of asylum thing. And I don't want to be on the record. And I said, Well. Why did you come now to the southern border? And he responds on the app because Joe Biden opened the border up. So we're coming.

Brannon Howse: And if you but if you just had to guess, what's the last report you had? I mean, 700,000 on the border waiting. What do you think? Up and down.

Todd Bensman: Nobody knows. I have seen anywhere from 40,000 to 700,000.

Brannon Howse: Yeah, I'd heard the 700,000 figure. Yes. Yeah.

Todd Bensman: The spread that spread is. Is far too huge for me to believe. Either one of them. I just have no idea.

Brannon Howse: What do you make of the fact that now you can't turn on a TV show they're talking about and show the footage, but you and I have been talking about you've been talking about this for years, as have we? Not like you have, but you and I alone. Just since you and I met, we've been discussing this pretty much every week now for close to a year or over a year. And what was going to come when this finally happened and now the media is all over it. What do you make of all the media coverage? Ah, I'm glad they're covering it, but are they getting the story correct?

Todd Bensman: First of all, I'm completely confused and perplexed over why all of a sudden ABC, NBC, CBS, and CNN are down here covering this thing for the first time as though this is the first kind of news from the border in two and a half years. So I'll just have no idea why all of a sudden they're decided to cover it. But, you know, they're about two and a half years late to the story. Um, I don't. I don't like the way they're covering this. They. They clearly do not understand the policies that are making this happen. They are, for example, the narrative that I hear the most in the regular old media. Is that, you know, Joe Biden is going to be really mean Now? They're really going to go hard on these guys, immigrants. They're going to do expedited removal as though they know nothing about how the asylum system really works or all the loopholes that they built into this thing. They never mention any of the loopholes. They never mentioned the fact that anybody can just say a combination of words about asylum and get into Chicago within 2 or 3 days. So I find that just sort of annoying, I guess more than anything else, they're just talking about how the Biden administration has gone Trump on them. But it's quite the opposite. In fact, it's completely the polar opposite.

Brannon Howse: What do you make of this headline right here from The Post Millennial suspected California serial killer identified as an illegal alien who came to us as an unaccompanied minor under Obama? Any thoughts on that? I guess he was from El Salvador. I just heard about this today. Alleged serial killer.

Todd Bensman: Right. Well, you know, we've seen a lot of really heinous, diverse, violent crime of the sort that is common in developing nations happens here, too. I'm not saying that we don't have our share, but really common in, you know, more common in less developed nations that don't have good, strong social systems and criminal justice systems. So when people come here from countries like that, you know, there is maybe a higher probability that you're going to see the kind of crimes committed down there being committed here. And so we've seen a lot of this sort of thing. It just doesn't really get national attention. It might get local attention and you have to look for it.

Brannon Howse: Here's another headline. The shocking video is, Enormous line of hundreds of migrants crossing illegally into Texas, a large majority of single adults. I'll be curious to get a report from you tonight, tomorrow night, or whenever you can after you get down there to see if a lot of these are military-age males, single males.

Todd Bensman: Yeah, I'll take a look. I mean, I think pretty much all categories of immigrant single men and women as well as unaccompanied children and family groups are probably all going to get a turnstile-free pass right into the country. We'll know for sure in a few more days. It might take a few more days even after that, while they test the waters to see what happens.

Brannon Howse: Are we still on for the 11th for Title 42 to be brought down? Yes. And then I hear and I did a story the other night with Frankie Stokes, 1500 US troops at the U.S. Border, and they're helping to process them through. They're helping to do the paperwork. So we got our troops, our military troops down there not stopping this, but doing the paperwork to help bring them over. Can you comment on that?

Todd Bensman: Well, yeah. I mean, there's been military down here doing that sort of thing for, you know, two and a half years now. That's nothing new. I guess that's maybe new? I mean, the National Guard, the Army National Guard, they've been down here for by the thousands for a long, long time, you know, greasing the skid, keeping the skids greased and the conveyor belt oiled and greased and moving our people into the country. They've always been an integral part of keeping that conveyor belt of humanity moving into the American interior. That's nothing new to me. I think what may be a little bit new is sort of the context of the end of Title 42. And it looks like they were going to go and, you know, point the guns at the other side of the border and like, you know, start firing at the migrants. None of that. It's never been like that.

Brannon Howse: Cis dawg. Cis dawg. Here's a video of U.S. Enabling Mass Asylum, Asylum, and Humanitarian Permit Fraud at the Southern Border. Brand new article by Todd Benjamin and Brian Griffin right there at CIA with a video at CIS. Cis Dawg. And then, of course, his own personal website, which is Todd bensman.com. Todd bensman.com. Todd, I hope you can come back and maybe give us another update tomorrow night after you've been there on the border.

Todd Bensman: Sure thing. Let's work that out.

Brannon Howse: All right. We'll do that. Be safe, my friend.
