A former State Department official has warned that deep state insiders and elements of the U.S. military are planning to derail Trump’s presidency should he win the election in November.

On Sunday, NBC News reported that “a loose-knit network of public interest groups and lawmakers” are planning to use lawfare and other tactics to block Trump from exercising power on day one of his return to the Oval Office.

According to the article, these insiders will go all out “to foil any efforts to expand presidential power,” even if Trump has been given a mandate to do so by the American people.

And they are increasingly open about their plans.

The NBC News article states:

“Those taking part in the effort told NBC News they are studying Trump’s past actions and 2024 policy positions so that they will be ready if he wins in November. That involves preparing to take legal action and send letters to Trump appointees spelling out consequences they’d face if they undermine constitutional norms.”

Critics say the plan is clearly part of an effort to have the military override Trump’s constitutional authority as president.

Mike Benz, executive director for Foundation for Freedom Online and former State Department official, posted a comment to X that states:

“Never forget this tweet for the rest of your life. This is an admitted plan, in advance, for the military to no longer observe the military chain of command. This is military-run government. This is a plan to end civilian-run government.”

Commentator Michael Malice suggested that the plan was tantamount to “treason.”

Others agreed that the plot amounted to a clear indication that the establishment was ready to resort to treason to stop Trump from fulfilling any kind of democratic mandate.

Another respondent pointed out that the woman credited with organizing this plan, Mary B. McCord, is coordinating an “effort to strip Trump of his power as commander in chief.”

McCord is an ardent anti-Trump deep state asset, having approved FISA warrants to surveil Carter Page, a former Trump campaign aide.

A U.S. cargo ship was hit Monday in the Red Sea by a ballistic missile fired by the Iranian-backed rebel group the Houthis, according to the Pentagon. 

The reported attack is another incident in the international shipping channel shortly after the start of the Israel-Hamas war in early-October 2023. In response, the U.S. has fired missiles over the past several days into Yemen, where the group, which sympathizes with the Palestinian-affiliate Hamas, purportedly has headquarters.   

The missile strike hit the Gibraltar Eagle and no injuries have been reported, according to U.S. Central Command, but this is yet another escalation and shows the Houthis are not backing down after being hit with joint U.S.-U.K. airstrikes last week.

“As a result of the impact, the vessel suffered limited damage to a cargo hold but is stable and is heading out of the area,” the group said, according to CNN. “All seafarers onboard the vessel are confirmed to be uninjured.” 

On Thursday, the U.S. and the U.K. launched joint airstrikes in Yemen and killed five people, according to Houthi leadership.

Joe Biden said the strikes were necessary due to American vessels in the Red Sea being targeted.

Americans were stunned on Sunday afternoon after Fox News reported the Federal Aviation Administration, overseen by Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, rolled out a new “Diversity and Inclusion” program to hire people with “severe intellectual disability” and “psychiatric disability,” among various other disabilities.

The program was announced just days after the latest mid-air near-disaster involving a Boeing 737 Max heightened the public’s attention to the potentially deadly impact of woke diversity, equity, and inclusion policies in the skies.

The FAA’s website read:

“Targeted disabilities are those disabilities that the Federal government, as a matter of policy, has identified for special emphasis in recruitment and hiring. They include hearing, vision, missing extremities, partial paralysis, complete paralysis, epilepsy, severe intellectual disability, psychiatric disability, and dwarfism.”

The FAA’s diversity hiring plan claims that “diversity is integral to achieving FAA’s mission of ensuring safe and efficient travel across our nation and beyond.”

There is never an ideal time to be laid off or fired, but being handed your pink slip during the holiday season of Thanksgiving, Christmas and the New Year is a kick to the gut. Yet for tens of thousands of Americans that is exactly what happened in December 2023.

All News Pipeline reports that 2024 is seeing a continuation of this pattern as companies like Xerox, founded in 1906 as the Haloid Photographic Company, has let go 15% of their workforce. Johnsonville sausage has laid off 400 and Enphase Energy has laid off 340. 

Twitch, the popular live-streaming platform for gamers, is laying off more than 500 employees, which is about one-third of its workforce. Citigroup is cutting 10% of its workforce, about 20,000 employees to be let go over the “medium term.” 

On Wednesday, Google confirmed it had cut hundreds of engineering and hardware workers as it sought to cut costs and refocus on artificial intelligence, according to Washington Post via MSN. Amazon is cutting jobs as well according to the same source.

These cuts follow cuts already made in 2022 and 2023:

The cuts at Amazon and Google this week are small compared to the many thousands of workers the two companies fired in 2022 and 2023. Amazon said it was cutting around 27,000 workers beginning at the end of 2022 and continuing through 2023. Google cut 12,000 jobs in January 2023, about 6 percent of its workforce. Meta, the parent company of Facebook, said at the end of 2022 it would cut 11,000 jobs, or 13 percent of its workers.

On Saturday, The Messenger reported “Thirty-five technology companies have laid off a combined 5,586 workers over the past two weeks, according to industry layoff tracker Layoffs.fyi.”

Another little tidbit from that article: “1,190 tech companies laid off a combined 262,682 workers last year, according to Layoffs.fyi.”

Other 2024 job cuts we know of so far from USA Today:

• Universal Music Group will lay off hundreds of employees, Bloomberg reports.

• Disney's Pixar could cut staff by 20% this year, TechCrunch reports.

• Discord will eliminate 17% of its employees to “sharpen focus,” The Verge reports.

• Amazon will lay off hundreds of Prime Video and MGM Studios workers, The Hollywood Reporter writes, as well as 5% of its Audible staff.

• BlackRock will lay off 3% of its global workforce, Bloomberg reports.

• The NFL has offered buyouts to around 200 of its 1,100-person staff, CNBC reports.

• Rent the Runway will cut 10% of its corporate employees, including its COO, Bloomberg reports.

• Unity Software will lay off 1,800 people (25% of its workforce), Reuters reports.

• Newell Brands, Sharpie and Rubbermaid producer, will cut 7% of its office roles, The Wall Street Journal reports.

• VideoAmp will lay off 20% of its employees, AdAge reports.

• The Messenger will cut around two dozen jobs, The New York Times reports.

• Cheddar has furloughed workers due to “unforeseen” factors, The New York Times reports.

CTV News reports that Switzerland on Monday agreed to host a global peace summit on Ukraine at the request of Ukrainian President Zelenskyy.

Switzerland, a historically neutral country, has previously acted as a broker to resolve conflicts and could now help find a resolution for the war that began when Russia sent troops into Ukraine nearly two years ago.

The Swiss government issued a statement that reads:

“At the request of the Ukrainian president, Switzerland has agreed to host a summit on the peace formula. Further details are now being worked out.”

Interestingly, Russia will not be invited to the peace summit.

Speaking alongside his Swiss counterpart Viola Amherd at a press conference in Bern, Zelenskyy did not provide an extensive list of the participants of the planned peace summit but hinted about who he wanted to attend.

Zelenskyy said:

“We are open to all countries that respect our sovereignty and territorial integrity at the peace summit, so draw conclusions about who we invite. We would like the Global South to be present ... it is important for us to show that the whole world is against Russia's aggression, and the whole world is for a just peace.”

Zelenskyy was in Switzerland where he was due to meet other world leaders at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Ukraine said on Sunday it was vital that the Chinese were involved in talks to end the conflict.

Zelenskyy said on Monday that China, one of Russia's key allies, played “a big role” in the world, and he wanted Beijing to take part.

“We would very much like China to be involved in our (peace) formula, as well as in the summit,” he said. “But not everything depends on our wishes.”

The globalist World Economic Forum is warning that leading economists are predicting global economic doom for the coming year.

According to a survey by the WEF, around 56% of top global economists predict that the world economy will weaken in the coming year.

The organization, founded by German economist Klaus Schwab, says geopolitical risks and increased localization are fueling the predictions.

While regional growth expectations vary, none are expected to do particularly well in 2024, the WEF warns.

77% of respondents predicted “weak or very weak growth” in Europe, according to the WEF survey.

Around 60% expect “moderate or stronger growth” in the U.S., Middle East, and North Africa.

Roughly 70% of economists also expect a further separation of world economies, fueled by geopolitical risks, increased localization, and tightening economic blocs.

In the survey, WEF Managing Director Saadia Zahidi said:

“The latest Chief Economists Outlook highlights the precarious nature of the current economic environment. Amid accelerating divergence, the resilience of the global economy will continue to be tested in the year ahead. Though global inflation is easing, growth is stalling, financial conditions remain tight, global tensions are deepening and inequalities are rising.”

The economists surveyed did express hope for the future economy, with 77% saying that labor markets will loosen while 70% thought that financial conditions will ease, according to the WEF.

Top economists were especially optimistic about Asia, expecting the southern and eastern regions to have “moderate growth,” but were less optimistic about China, with 69% foreseeing “moderate growth.”

Biometric Update reports that all Ethiopians seeking government services will soon have to present a digital ID, the executive director of the Ethiopia National ID program, Yohade Zemichael, is quoted as telling local news portal Shega in an interview.

According to Zemichael, the move is part of a government plan to ensure that all government services are integrated into the digital ID.

Although under four million people have so far been enrolled for the digital ID, dubbed Fayda, the country expects to register 90 million eligible citizens by 2028. The initial deadline for this target was 2025, but that is no longer possible as the process has witnessed significant delays.

While the Digital ID Proclamation approved by Parliament last year doesn’t make enrollment for digital ID mandatory, the legislation gives government and private institutions the right to deny service for lack of the ID.

The Ethiopia National ID program has taken a series of steps in recent months as part of its plan to expand the use of Fayda. Apart from making the digital ID a compulsory credential for civil servants and for students, the authority has also sealed a number of deals with some UN agencies to speed up the digital ID adoption, especially for groups like children and forcibly displaced persons. The National Digital ID program also has a collaboration with banks to step up enrollment for digital ID, which will tie the digital ID to the coming central bank digital currency.

An employee of a local jewelry store in Oakland, California, gave two suspected armed thieves an unwelcome surprise on Monday when he opened fire on them with his weapon, FOX2 reported.

The worker, an owner of a 9mm handgun who did not want to be identified, said he saw a Toyota Camry approach the shop on the wrong side of the road, according to FOX2.

Both mask-wearing suspects had guns drawn when they entered the jewelry store, FOX2 reported.

In response to the suspects’ command, “Don’t move, or we’ll shoot,” the employee said he fired the first round from his 9mm because “they had the guns pointed at me.”

The suspects fired back, and the firefight went back and forth for 20 seconds.

The suspects fired about 20 shots from a .40-caliber handgun with a drum magazine and a 9mm with an extended magazine, both illegal large-capacity magazines.

The employee told Fox2:

“And then I ducked, right, and then I waited to see him like scrambling. The other guy was still shooting. And then I popped my head out and shot about seven more.”

When the suspects scrambled to escape, one man left his shoes behind and it’s possible his partner shot him in the shoulder before the wounded thief was hit by the getaway car driven by a third suspect, according to FOX2.

Oakland police did not press charges against the worker, the outlet reported.

At the store, riddled with bullet holes from the firefight, the worker had a message for other would-be criminals.

“If you come back again, try to do the same thing, we’re just going to defend ourselves. At this point, you have to,” he told Fox2.

Time now for our Worldview Report commentary.

Court Watch reports that the FBI arrested a mentally disturbed man last Friday for threatening to shoot up his workplace.

Authorities charged a 34-year-old Oregon man, who identifies as a woman, for allegedly posting threats to a Facebook group made up of transgendered persons. Following a court-ordered search, FBI agents seized 27 guns and thousands of rounds of ammunition from the house of the man, who goes by the name Elizabeth West.

West was charged last Friday with communicating a threat. According to court records, in late September 2023 West posted to the transgender Facebook group a picture of himself with two firearms and the statement “I’m too old to keep looking for jobs and I’ve had it up to here being bullied by transphobic a--holes I am left with no alternative. I’ll probably have to go out in a blaze of glory.”

But that wasn’t what had the FBI concerned as they were in no hurry to arrest the man until they found other comments that could make him sound like a radical Nazi extremist, when in fact he was a leftist.

West was only arrested, nearly four months later, after checks of his social media exhibited racial hatred towards black people, immigrants, and Jews.

As part of the investigation into the threat, the FBI interviewed an individual close to West who stated that West had previously attended Neo-Nazi rallies and would “host members from the rallies at (his) residence.”

Two months later, the FBI learned that West had a X account with a profile picture of a Nazi flag, says an FBI affidavit. For two weeks, the FBI monitored the public account, where “West posted and reposted multiple memes, videos and statements that contained violence toward black and Jewish people and immigrants, images of weapons owned, idolizing Hitler and the Nazi flag.”

On January 9, after agents monitoring him were alerted to a gun purchase, agents executed the search warrant and arrested West.

Without mentioning his radical leftist ideology, the affidavit references “far-right terror,” “white supremacy,” and “alt-right extremism,” portraying the potential mass shooter as a conservative terrorist.

The affidavit did not allege that any of the racist X posts were crimes.

In the end, the justification the FBI used to charge him was the transgenderism-fueled Facebook post from months earlier in which West threatened to shoot up his workplace, which he contended was full of “transphobic” people.

This is just the latest example of how the corrupt FBI operates. They were perfectly willing to let it slide as long as they thought this was just a case of a transgender person threating to shoot co-workers for bullying him.

It was only when they found him to also be a racist that they started seriously investigating and then arrested him. Being a racist, while it won’t win you many friends or make you very popular at cocktail parties, is not against the law. Threatening to shoot your co-workers is. But in the twisted world of the FBI, racism is more dangerous than radical transgendered males playing the victim and potentially preparing to kill innocent Americans in order to draw attention to their victimhood.
